i am now officially a wicked dj,just finished a school disco and they loved it, two seperate discos in one night first the younger ones easy to please just play party songs had a game of musicals statues, dont think the parents that were judging for me realised they were supposesed to get the children out so went on a bit long, then the older ones, anything in the charts and party songs surprised they wanted some slow ones but the request kept coming in,i could of done another hour and still not played all the songs.the second time ive done that school and looks like i could get regular work.

friday lesson learnt took a late booking just over a week agoTOOK NO DEPOSIT AND YOU GUESSED IT they phoned up yesterday and cancelled, no more bookings without a non returnable deposit.

saturday going to meet andy (sorry im only 15 so i cant buy you a pint but dad will be there so he will)

just so you know your advice is not falling on deaf ears since joining this site i have had all my equipment pat tested and taken out pli all the djs ive met before has said dont bother youll never need it .so thanks to you all for pointing me in the right direction and please continue to do so thanks jamie

http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif Nice one Jamie! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif

Was it a primary school or secondary school disco? I do a few secondary school discos and they usually are fantastic! One imparticular is a hall packed out with around 300 12-16 year olds, and every tune you drop you hear screams from the crowd as they love it so much! What a feeling! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

This forum is full of fantastic advice! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

Today, nothing.

Actually, the headlights have packed up on my trusty charriot. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/mad.gif

(No laughing from ADS please......)

I'm not sure what the problem is, as the sidelights still work and it is possible to flash the headlamps using the usual method. Must be a fault on the circuit board, or a dodgy relay perhaps? Whatever, I have to bodge the thing so dipped beam works, and will probably have to place a jumper wire directly from the battery to the headlams dipped beam circuit, connected and disconnected by opening the bloody bonnet.

No high beam then, but at least I'll be able to travel about after dark until I get it fixed properly.

That and a load of other poo going on..... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif

Same old thing for me Saturday at the G.P. Lot of young lads celebrating 21st over took the place a bit, but they got tired of the dance floor after about half an hour and let the more sensible age groups take over.

Not the best night, crowd wise, but best part of evening was when the big group of lads crowded round taking my photo and saying "Your fit" http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif What a complement since I am a happily married 35 year old mother of 2. (I did have a new reasonably skimpy top on, I am sure that had nothing to do with it!) A couple of weeks ago a girl there thought I was 22! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif I know it is all very drink induced but will keep me happy for a few days anyway. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/071.gif

Forgot the other major prob, one of the speakers wasn't working! (Their stuff not mine!) I hope they get it fixed for next week. The sound is pretty http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pooh.gif anyway, this didn't help.

Freebie for me last night.

Friend of my wifes son is going to Australia with his girlfriend and decided to have a party, so was voluntered to do the gig.

although not getting paid, I think it was the best I have done, really enjoyed it myself. At the end, had the couple in the middle of a circle with family around and played the ovaltinies, quite a few tears.

Got home to find some http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/censored2.gif had pinched the reg plates of the wifes car
