robbiedj 0
Friday. St Pat's at regular pub. Played from 6-12 and only repeated 1 track. (Fields Of Athenry was requested twice). Had a 7 year old accordian player do one tune and later the girls from the dance school came in. Only one dissenting voice all night. I was informed by a p http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/censored2.gif t that Thin Lizzy's Whiskey In The Jar and Energy Orchard's 3 Days On The Tear are not Irish music http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif . Had to have a little word with him due to his attitude. (especially in reference to Energy Orchard, one of the band is the landlady's nephew. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif ) Saturday. It's my birthday and I am going to have a few malts at home. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif Sunday. SEDA AGM. If you're going, see you there. You want me to play what? Andy Westcott 0
My daughter's 14th birthday gig went very well, and all enjoyed it. Some surprising requests - surprising to me, anyhow: Rednecks' Cotton Eye Joe Steps' 5 6 7 8 Medley & Warne's I've Had The Time Of My Life Travolta's Greased Lightning, Travolta & John's You're The One That I Want Jackson's Thriller T-Spoon's Sex On The Beach Amongst several others. Being out of it for so long, I didn't expect this lot to even know this music, let alone like it; Lucky I went prepared. Most music was chart R n' B, and anything 'clubby' failed to get a decent response. I've got some photos, but I'll post them under DJ & Karaoke Chat. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif
KrazyKaz 0
Well, I had one of my best nights last night. 6-9pm family function, brilliant. A few games (to keep lil 'uns amused), loads of interaction with the guests(mainly the kids), loads of dancing especially party dances. Even had some of the adults playing musical statues, http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif Got a good amount of feedback too- "the only family do I've been to that so many people were up dancing" , "thanks for a great night", "it was brilliant thank you" A fair few cards given out. One booking made with deposit paid there and then. Result! Things might be looking up after all. They don't call me Krazy for nothing!
