The Spindoctor 0
QUOTE that is so ****ing sad it is unbelieveable Careful who's toes you stomp on with those size 12's as a newbie with ZERO posts are you really in a position to decide such a thing? kazzachi 0
Sad or not....... at least those posting have gigs to comment about. Can I suggest reverend that if you are going to preach to your clients (if you ever get any with your attitude) that you will become a far better dj if you play what the client wants - not what you would want to hear! However, seeing as you are still so very young, you have lots to learn and hopefully will take advise from some of the djs on here who earn a very decent living playing all kinds of "sad" tunes! Eskie 0
Woah! hold on guys; an over-reaction here I think. I actually thought Revereneds post was kinda funny http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif . Additionally he's entitled to an opinion regardless of how many posts he's made or how many gig's he's done?! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif On reading the original quote in which he refers to I must admit I felt my lunch starting to come back up as well http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East! Dj_Kray 0
yes esk its a bit cheezy but i think QUOTE that is so ****ing sad it is unbelieveable .... it a bit harsh i just think like you did and im sure many others did was keep any over the top opinions inside. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
DJ Spinko 0
I'm gonna add my tuppence worth here. Respect the other person's opinion, swearing is not big and it's not clever especioally in the first post you make. I know we do use it sometimes to express an opinon on something, remember that it can encourage a torrent of responses just like this one..... Spinko
C.S 0
QUOTE that is so ****ing sad it is unbelieveable If this comment had been made in jest then i think it would have been funny, but i think it was meant to degrade the dj who made the comment. The original post does seem a little cheezy and that kind of dj ing is not my style BUT i can respect it works for some people. I think we all probably dj in our own styles and do things that other djs think are pump and would never do,but it is unecessary to post a criticism in such a way that makes it clear that you are mr cool, the best, and people who do the kind of thing mentioned in the post are sad. I find it sad that somebody would even trawl back to august looking for something to ridicule. Yes Reverend is entitled to his opinion but he is not exempt from the rules of the game which include politeness and respect, i am sure wesley who made the original post would have some criticism of reverends dj style. Esk ole mate you might think i am overeacting but to be honest with you i think i read it in the way it was meant http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/huh.gif I will try anything, once! partychris 0
As we are on the subject of last songs, i must tell you about last night. Been working a hotel most nights for the past 2 weeks doing xmas parties and as i was already booked up myself for a few dates in dec i thought i would buy another small setup to leave in the hotel and let a friend of mine (who comes out with me most weekends and wants to get in to running his own show) do the date on his own when im working somewhere else. But before letting him go solo i thought i would leave it all to him last night, setting up,running the whole night beginning to end and all i would do was take requests and help him pack up.So the night started he done a really good night i was very impressed, crowd up all night. Then a lady comes up moaning that he has not played House of Pain "Jump Around" (great tune, but not sure for a xmas party !). so he explained very politely that he was playing the last song and it was the end of the night ! she kept on and on,(then even threatening to snog him http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wacko.gif ) Time to step in, so off i trot to the hotel manager (who was also dancing the night away) and asked if it was possible to play just one more as this lady was going off on one ! he said fine play 2 more max..so running back just before this http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/censored.gif has her togune down my friends throat i said it was ok we will play her song ! So i pass my friend the cd (its on best cheese party album (why i will never know!! ) CD1 track 11(this i will never forget! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif ) so he cues the cd up, announces this is the VERY last track, Thank you blah blah blah, and this for the young lady over there (pointing her out to all the crowd, just encase it goes belly up) presses play and what starts playing........ the Birdy song http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wallbash.gif i ran and hid in the corner waiting for the floor to open, All her mates were rolling around laughing she was gob smacked and funny of all the dance floor was packed http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif..but he did then play the correct track and she was happy..So i think he will be fine for the next to nights on his own .. P.s. the birdy song is track 7, he miss heard me !! that will teach him to use his head phones..but made our night.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/071.gif
