I use winamp. With winamp you can also project the effects.

Jimbo

Ooh! You mean like the stuff you can bring up on iTunes if nyou want something to watch while you're listening to your favourite tunes?

i use 2 projectors.

as you can show the videos .

or you can show really good visual effects

easier than setting up loads of lights and when used with the laptops the effects are in sync with the music.

i sometimes have a projector pointing behind me to create great effects .

looks really good and easy to set up really. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

i have found winamp good for this but i also use ots dj on the laptops.

Now, Thats the reply I am looking for...

What projector do you have, bearing in mind, its going to be dark, do you need one thats really bright, and do you have a screen or just use the walls???

Also how far does it have to be from the screen / wall to get a decent sized image? Do you use as back projection or from in front?

I have been thinking about the use of a projector also.

For those of you who use them what do you believe are the necessary characteristics of a projector to work well?

I guess I am thinking in the first instance about the brightness, bulb life and bulb replacment cost. What else is there that I should look for?

Has anyone had problems with the extended length of the video cable from the source to where ever the projector is rigged up?

Cheers.

Tim

i use an epsom emp74 and a epsom emp x3 projector.

you can project onto a wall or a ceiling .

i also have 2 pull up screens .10 seconds to set up.

so i also project onto them.

the further away from the wall or screen determines the size of the image , aswell as the adjustment on the projectors.

i always have them near the source so i dont have really long cables.

my projectors are 2000 and 1700 ansi lumens bulbs .

so they are very good on impact.
