Andy Westcott 0
I was a lttle bored - not a statement I use freely - so I started looking through my junk music and came across a Black Lace album with 'I Am The Music Man' on it. I played it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/hide.gif After easing myself out from behind the sofa, no mean task as the gap isn't particularly wide, whereas I am, I wondered if there might ever, ever be a situation where I could play this track. So, over to you lot. Do any of you ever play this particular track, and if so, to what kind of crowd, and how well is/was it received. Thankyou. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif
djgb 0
Played it at a wedding by request of the bride! Played it a couple of times at kids parties and early on in the night at family parties, again for the kids and the parents to join in as some can't do the cha cha slide etc. But as for a regular song don't play it . Always been to scared http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif to do so, but maybe others find it works and may not admit to playing it? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/hide.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

BigBen 0
I think you'll find this is a great cheese track that gets played a lot on holiday. Therefore, anyone coming back from a typical hotel break with kids will probably have spent a fortnight learning the moves...give it a go and let us know how you get on! I'm still waiting for the chance to play "Gang Bang" by Black Lace.... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif [insert quirky comment]

Kingy 0
I used to play it many years ago. I haven't done so for ages. It failed miserably one night as I recall and I don't think I have used it since. Would play it if asked. Edited June 10, 2006 by Kingy

Andy Westcott 0
Quote from Mr Mole: "I try and only play music at gigs I do." Hmmm... My sentiments exactly. Trouble is, since I played it at home, my kids have decided they like it, and one even knew it! I get embarrassed just playing it at home, so not sure if I could ever play it in anger - I've never been asked for it up to now. May give it a go at a forthcoming kids' disco - if my daughter (she's DJing that night) will risk it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Supradave 0
The only songs I refuse to play are the Birdy song and anything by Black Lace (even DJ's have to have standards). I have only been asked for the Music Man once in 13 years of Djing and denied having the track (I probably have a copy of it on a compilation somewhere but was not going to look for it). I don't do childrens parties.
