There are plenty of threads on this sort of thing, my suggestion is Numark CDN22

be careful dont buy too cheap,i use a numark cdn88 and a skytec tec2500 for backup you could use 2 cheap dvd players about £20 for backup.remember how good your main set is something can go wrong on the night so back up equipment is essential,so plan that in when working out how much you got to spend.my numark cost £400 but i know some people use the numark cdn22 and have no problems with it,when you decide what to buy i suggest you tell us on here and im sure the expirienced guys will tell you whether its a good buy or not

Nothing wrong with a CDN 22 for somone starting out... arround £130 ish

spend a little more and you could end up with loops and effects...

Should you need themmmm.........

I would just go with a basic CDN 22 as suggested above, forget the other bits & pices like loops etc unless you specifically want to go into re-mixing.

Yep, my vote goes with the CDN-22 by Numark too http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

Well respected amongst many DJ's and a Unit which is both cheap and reliable (two words which often don't go together! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif )

The CDN-22 is available from Why Buy New for only £119

Id agree on the Numark CDN22's! Great to start with!

Back-up... ive got an Electrovision twin CD player, few years old but still in good working order, its just taking space up in my lock-up, i just want to get shot of em for £50.... postage to UK is £10... if your interested, PM me!!!

Thats got to be better than a pair of HIFI players as back-up!

Wow that's a first nobody actually disagreed with me! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

2 of our guys use CDN22s (mk3 & mk4), they do have back up & tend to run all 4 decks after seeing the way I work. Regardless of that they are used every week with no problems so far.
