DJ Marky Marc 0
Give us all an idea of the size of your budget and what your trying to do.. would you like powered speakers or speakers to run with an amp you already have ? <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
EdBray 0
Adam, You will probably have to elaborate a little. What are you looking for, power, size, full range/ seperates etc. What amplifier do you have to run them? What sort of budget do you have? If you do not yet have an amp and can afford it I would go for a pair of these: http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_box_pa203...a_prodinfo.html 250 watts rms per speaker, bi=amped, 15" driver at £136 each will cost you £272 including vat and an additional £7 for shipping. You will have to get someone to order them on a credit card for you. If you have a little more then I would suggest the following: http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_box_pa502...m_prodinfo.html these are 400watt rms per speaker, bi-amped, 15" driver for £197 each so a pair will be £394 plus £7 shipping. If you want to keep the size and cost down how about a pair of these: http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_box_pa202...a_prodinfo.html 250watt rms per speaker, biamped, 12" driver these are only £128 each (£256) plus £7 shipping. If you have an amp then how about the equivalent passive speakers from the same range:- 15" 400 Watt rms @ £123 each plus £7 shipping £253 http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_box_pa502...m_prodinfo.html 12" 200 watt rms @ £89 each £178 pair plus £7 shipping http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_box_pa202...m_prodinfo.html states that they are 200watt rms but I think they are the passive version of the pa202a and are actually 250watt. If you are on a budget, I would suggest you buy the 12" active speakers PA202A as they will also do as a backup later on when you have bought some more powerful kit. There are also some smaller 10" and 8" driver cabinets both active and passive for sale on the Thomann website, I would suggest they are not really man enough for general mobile disco use unless you are planning on only covering small functions. Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
