DJ Marky Marc 0
For those who didnt get to come to Fabric on wednesday night here is the basics from mr ralph lawson... RobbieD 0
But is it any good for controlling DJ software (ie mp3/wav playing software such as PCDJ or OTS) rather than the music creating software used in the video? How does it compare to a DAC3 controller? How does it compare to a Pioneer CDJ-1000, user interface wise?
DJ Marky Marc 0
that was just one bit of software he was using, all the buttons can be maped to any function on the PC so yes you could make it work with any software.... the mixer has its own sound cards built in so you dont need extra boxes.. and its works great with 4 decks in tracktor... this is a step in the right direction... it doesnt replace your CDJs unless you want it too its just a good way of bringing together all the diferent boxes and wires and stuff into one unit... you can also use Midi to DMX controlers with it and DJ with your lights :) <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
partychris 0
its also a tad more expensive than a DAC controller at £1600 !!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif
RobbieD 0
QUOTE (partychris @ Jun 30 2006, 02:55 PM) its also a tad more expensive than a DAC controller at £1600 !!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif True, but I'm about to spend £1000 on a DJM-800, so any new mixer that look good may make me put that purchase off. wizard 0
looks interesting.............. but think I will stick with cubase and propellerheads reason, they have taken me tooooo long to master. The oldest swinger in town....... probably. Happy Easter.. well I have seen easter eggs in the shops
DJ Marky Marc 0
think you missed the point, there is nothing stoping u from using this with cubase and reason... £1000 on a mixer and then, £300 on decent sound card/box for your laptop and added a few extras you might as well just have the xone... <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
wizard 0
nope didnt miss the point.. It appears the Xzone could do what they both do and would be good for live work as well, just really saying I cannot be bothered to spend time learning new kit when they do what I want ....... just me being lazy in my old age. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/071.gif wouldnt mind trying it out for Dj'ng as opposed to production tho' as A&H are genrally the dogs wotsits in the low end market........... and before you shout at me for saying low end I mean as opposed to pro studio stuff http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/hide.gif The oldest swinger in town....... probably. RichardP 0
(DJ) Sasha's a huge proponent of Ableton Live - the software that's so heavily featured in conjunction with the Xone:3D product - he's used it for a couple of his recent albums and now uses it live for mix sets, running on a Mac. Out of reach for us mere mortals, but he commissioned his own custom DJ mixer/controller called the MAVEN (see http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature_view.asp?ID=543 ) which I witnessed at Space/Ibiza opening party earlier this month (looks very cool in the dark!) http://www.residentadvisor.net/images/features/sasha_control_01.jpg Nice! <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
