Hello and Namaste to everyone from India, the land where love is the essence of life. For ages I have been going to parties which had a man who use to play music and real cool music. Atleast that was what was explained to me when I was small. I later in my teens understood that the man is actually a DJ and is remixing music. I really liked it and since then have been mad on DJ'ing and I really wanted to learn but monetary constraints and nervousness before the mic held me back. I now hear that we can learn DJ'ing on the computer, so I'm back with full force. ALTHOUGH I STILL AM VERY VERY SCARED TO STAND IN FRONT OF A MIC!!! I never know what voice to put on or how o speak. Fellow DJ's Please help me here and tell me how to gain confidence in front of a MIC. I also want to know if the software titled Ejay 3 is any good as a friend has gifted it to me...

Wishing for da success of all DJ's and hoping that one day Ill be a DJ too...

Tedio...........

You dont put on a voice you use your own otherwise you'll sound silly, it does take time getting ove the nerves with the mic but most people do get there! Dont look at anyone look straight over there heads as I think this is what puts you off, as soon as you say something all these pairs of eyes stare at you!

Practice!

The only thing you need to be scared off on here, is Paula & Karen! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif .

All the information that you need is on the forum, and many D.J's are using a P.C only based system to great success. You may like to start reading the D.J'ing using a P.C Section for more information.

You are old enough to be a D.J!. We have had D.J's on this forum aged 13 - 15, so I think I can say that you are old enough to learn the business http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif .

It's getting the experience of D.J'ing that will take the time, although this forum, is possibly a good place to start, you really need to work with a D.J locally to you to get an idea of what is involved.

I'm not sure how many Mobile D.J's there are in India?, or if there are any close to your area?. If not you could always read the advice on here and start off by doing parties for friends using your PC.

With regard the mic work, it's very common to be shy of using a microphone in public, and even most D.J's still get nervous. This topic has recently also been discussed, and you may like to read the advice given by CLICKING THIS LINK!

Welcome

I think EVERYBODY when starting hates the talking bit, I'm like Chris, I would rather talk to 300 people behind a microphone than one person at the pub.

.....but what do I know ?

Do you fink we've scared him off so soon!

I no I would be scared if I was talking into the mic after 2 pints http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif

Then again, it would be 2 pints of Pepsi, so my main fear would be having to go really bad.........

As for doing a show for three hundred people...... My town is so small, that if 300 people gathered together, every living resident under 50 would be in the same building. (Small towns are soooooooooo boring)

Back on topic......

I think he got his adivice and beat it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sad.gif O well......
