music box 0
The Beatles went through a hippy/ peace stage which was the end of them with realy, as a known band Sergent Pepper album was released with things like Yellow Submarine etc.. Woman came from John Lennon and Yoko. As for flower power Let's to Sanfransisco, Flowers in the rain, Calfornia dreaming where the most popular tunes of the day then. This was the start of Glastonebury as well but cant think what came out of that at present, other than Jethro Tull, Tiny Tim etc. There where groups around like Small faces, Marc Boland etc who where taking pop into another dimention. spinner 0
"The Sixties Summer of Love" double CD ( if still available )contains some useful stuff and if the CBS collections "Fill Your Head With Rock" are available, they're good too. Otherwise The Byrds, Love, Doors, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, Country Joe & The Fish, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Traffic, Canned Heat, Santana, Spirit, Moby Grape, Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Electric Flag, Blood Sweat & Tears, Al Kooper, Chicago, Mike Bloomfield, Pacific Gas & Electric, Leonard Cohen, Arlo Guthrie, Steppenwolf, The Band and Johnny Winter are all relevant. spinner 0
Eric Burdon & The Animals " San Franciscan Nights" could be added plus anything by The Mothers of Invention. A lot depends on how "authentic" you want to get.
