Wicked awesome weekend for me. What a great job DJing is.....Friday did a wedding at Farnham house hotel, B&G quite late in wanting to do the first dance as it was lovely outside.

Saturday, Marky Marc & I combined forces for an awesome wedding party for a couple in a marquee, also in Farnham. The wedding theme was a flower power day, and a dance festival theme for the night's entertainment with guest DJ's etc.... When I originally took the booking, young MM was already booked somewhere, but luckily got cancelled http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

This is what we put in:

http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/6136.jpg

Marc's unfeasably huge stack of JBL speakers, powered by A&H 464 mixer and Ecler amps, my S&H Starcloth DJ booth to complement the starcloth ceiling in the marquee, and my lighting including a 2ft UV, a Constella Pro Twin, 4 x LED par56, 4 x Acme Dynamos, 2 x Stairville moving heads, Acme HP2s hazer which worked wonders, and of course my Pioneer CDJ1000's and DJM600.

A few more pics:

The music was a real joy, the remit was to do the cheese for the first bit of the evening from 7pm, then break into dance music in a festival stylee. Marky and I took turns, we were then treated to 2 sets from 2 guest DJs later in the night, and we finished the evening off at 4am ish.

After one of the guest DJ's finished his set, Marc could not resist the urge to spin something he called venal - vinl -vynal - vonal?

Got home at 7am still buzzing from a great night. Marc summed it up - we got paid to set up and take down the gear, the bit in the middle was pure enjoyment.

Today, woke up in time to see the F1 Grand Prix being won by Jensen Button http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

Top weekend, many thanks Marc http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif

Did a rugby 7s event this saturday in what I thought was a rather large marque 40meters-ish long, supplied the pa for the days proceedings and did the night aswell. What a laugh, things really got going at about 10-ish but since they only had a licience for the bar till 12.30 I had to knock things on the head at about 12.45. Dance floor / piece of grass area was packed all night . Could have stayed all night and from the comments and suggestions from the crowd they would have been more than happy too. I borrowed some extra speakers for this one, fbt maxx6 and they sounded great.

Was asked by a woman in her late 40s to play something a little older, she wanted to dance to something, so asked what like 80s,70s,60s - no some nineties dance stuff like Dr Alban and 2unlimited ? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif So being the obliging dj I did and actually the songs did get a good response -- must have been the beer me thinks ? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Funny though when I agreed the price, which was more than resonable, a got a oowhh is it really that much but when the night ended got a big thank you etc. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif

So thought I'd ask your opinon on the price, as I used to play for the rugby club and do their Saturday nights once or twice a month when the regular dj cant ,

for being there from 4pm till 12.45am with goalpost lighting x 8 effects, 2 x fbt speakers x2 12inch 200w x2 300w bass bins x2 300w twin 12inch speakers, bout 2.5kw in amp / music power few little extra bits - wait for it

for a crowd of what looked like +300

only a bargain price of

£150!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif

Have priced myself a little low on this one?

http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/stupid.gif

Thanks hope you all had a good weekend

Out to my regular Mon holiday park gig tomorow.

Saturday - 13th Birthday Disco. They wanted no games as the birthday girl thought she was too grown up for games. However all that happened was that the guests at the party (aged 12 - 15, boys and girls) only wanted to chat up each other (as you do at that age), and none was remotely interested in dancing. I was basically a juke box for the evening playing the kids requests. This was really hard work as I wanted to get the kids dancing, if only for the parents' sakes.

The mother asked if I could interact with the kids more. but the kids were only interested in asking me to play Eminem, 50 Cent and the like.

This was easily the hardest disco I've done so far. The parents apologised to me at the end as they felt the kids had not interest in theparty itelf.

Tonight, my usual gig at the holiday camp, which is great fun. 40-50 requests per night and lots of dancing families. Why can't all gigs be like this?

Order! before anyone gets shirty about what to wear at a wedding, we were contracted to be in tshirts / jeans / whatever and NOT formal wear for this one.

Had a great time last night. Treated to some really good musicans. I supported band called the Sharpee's. Shut your eyes and it really was Dire Straights on stage. I was totally blown away by it. The Sharpee's

The Rocky Horror show was a great laugh, loads of people got up and joined in the dancing.

The Karoke was wild and fun. It was really tight for requests and I was getting also sorts of body parts and 'personal favors' offered from young and mature ladies to slip an extra request in. It was supposed to be an 11:00pm finish, but I actually finished at 12:10 am.

In all £3500 pounds was raised for cancer research from donations.

A good cause and a night I will never forget.

If you were both allowed to wear what you want then I would rather not see any more pictures, i've heard about Mr Mole's fashion sense... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/hide.gif

My weekend started of crap really, got a call from my mate who informed me that another close friend of mine had just died of a heart attack whilst he was in his cabin on a cruise ship, he was only 35, he was due to attend my wedding in 3 weeks!!!! Completely devistated.

Saturday day had to try and carry on, but me and the fiancee set up our chair covers at a large manor house out in Taunton, bride was very happy.

Saturday evening was a wedding function in a large sports club, great atmosphere and even managed some old school dance music....

Overall glad my weekend is over...

Sorry to hear about yuor friend. 35 is no age at all.

Friday - Had a night out with hubby did a bit of dancing etc.

Saturday - Recouperated from previous night. Usual place for me. Reasonably quiet in terms of numbers. They started off a bit tame until the drink kicked in then they all livened up. A good night in the end. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif
