Eskie 0
I've noticed that on quite a few planning forms I've received from clients recently that they have specified "Please do not play anything by James Blunt" or something along those lines, which is fine by me cos I think he's pretty boring http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sleep1.gif Have any of your Billy Bunters made it clear they don't like James Blunt? mind you he is good for one thing.. I had trouble getting to kip a few nights ago, I stuck his album on and I was out like a light in no time http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East! djbzentertainment 0
Brilliant subject! Personally can't stand his music. Its music to bury your pet dog by isn't it? Its so bloody miserable. I have had a few confirmation booking forms returned saying no James Blunt as well. Am sure he is a technically good musician/song writer but come on James lighten up mate. Bob All stuck together with the finest DJ glue. Ladiees an gennelmennn....the buffet is now open.
Tonsk 0
I dislike James Blunt a whole lot... Annoying and his voice irritates like sand paper... Anyhow, has been requested less and less, mainly by children now who'd parents have sung "You're Beautiful" too and think it's their song.... Bless.... In the last year, no one has ever asked me NOT to play him, but its only been requested about 4 - 5 times.... Supradave 0
I only tried to play beautiful once as a slowie towards the end of the evening and got an empty dance floor and a large groan from the audience so I never risked playing that again. I brought the album but thought it was extremely dull however I had several people tell me how good they thought the album was. Mainly middle aged women strangely enough. Kingy 0
I can take it or leave it. I have been asked for a couple of his tracks, ( You're Beautiful and Wise men) can't see what offends so many people, anyone care to explain what is soooo bad?? Bit confused by some of the comments really. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif Granted it's not exactly my cup of tea but its certainly better than some of the absolute dribble we have to contend with. paula 0
You could listen to Roger Robin's version of your beautiful, it don't seem so drab!
Hugmaster 0
Hi james Blunt, naaa sorry doesn't do it for me. Over rated and over played. As are cold Play. For some real heart pounding sturring stuff try Within Temptation or Nightwish. alternatively, if you like more mellow oriented stuff try Rufus Wainright, absolutely masterful song writing. Gary 0
I'll play "Beautiful" if requested (radio edit) but thats it. Wisemen is the only other track that springs to mind from him, but that required a radio edit version too, so I didn't bother with the album.
