Ordered a pair of these from sapphires last wednesday as my headphones decided to stop working at the previous weeks gig. They cost me 5 times as much as my old headphones but boy were they money well spent. They arrived on Friday in time for Saturdays gig and I'm absolutely thrilled to bits with them. I know alot of people would not pay out £119 for a pair of headphones but my moto is you pay for what you get and I cannot fault these headphones one bit. Plus for an extra £10 I also got a very handy UDG bag to store them in. I decided to invest in these after recommendations on here from Marky Marc and reading nothing but positive reviews. One thing I was confused about was that they were advertised as having a coiled removable cable but this does not seem to be the case as the cable is straight and does not want to be removed. However as far as sound quality and blocking out background noise they are absolutely superb. I would rate them 10 out of 10 definitely money well spent

Yep, great headphones. Can't fault them.

Not coiled, as Marky says.

The cable plugs in to each ear piece - the little red and black plastic bits on the end of each wire. They are quite tight and you should only unplug them to replace the cable. Constant unpluging (even the accidental type Marky refers to) will make those connections work loose.

Ooops just realised that was me looking at the headphones that were in the UDG bag advertisement which are not the senny's. In the words of Derek Trotter " what a plonker" lol

Yep, I get on well with them too, and I also bought in response to Marky's comments. (Does he get commission???)

Closed back design cuts out a load of external sound, meaning the 'phones don't have to be as loud as normally - my main reason for buying.

I find the clamping force about the 'earoles a bit high, but not unduly uncomfortable, and there seems to be a slight hump in the response round about 5KHz (guessing), and a slight fall-off at the highest end when compared to my HD495s, but then the latter are open-backed, and hi-fi.

The HD25s are also very efficient, giving considerably higher SPLs for a given input than many others.

They seem pretty tough, and haven't failed yet depite having been pulled from my head by a snagged lead on several occasions.......

Highly recommended, despite the price. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif

Mine did the same, had mine for years replaced the ear pads and that’s about it love them to bits. As for the earphone not working, I pulled the plug from the earphone and squished the two points together to get a tighter fit when plugged in..

I love my HD25's. They may be pricey but the are worth every penny.

Yep I love mine as well, they've seen some action over the years, my biggest problem is standing on the generously long lead and leaning over, I've polished off a few leads like that, they usually go at the jack end, I've chopped off the moulded one and fitted a Neutrik one instead.

The other problem is, whilst adjusting them, accidentally letting go of one cup (whilst wearing them) and it springing back and hitting me in the eye socket. Not a specific Sennheiser issue, it just makes me feel a bit daft.

That's the only thing with them - give me a better quality jack plug any day, although the one provided is OK.

Another HD fan over here ... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

The only mod I've made is to buy the 3m lead ... Which came about after wandering away from the mixer to my CDs and having them yanked off my head ... Doh! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif

yeh...the lead is a right f:cense:.. Ive managed to nearly whip my head clean off a few times. The lead is far too short.

I previously had the HD 25 SP which had a much longer lead - long enough to tread on the lead, ripping the phones from your head (or pulling the pugs off).

I think the shorter lead on the HD 25 is an improvement.
