Well we all have to start somewhere but I would ask have you had any experience of attending a few weddings perhaps as roady to another DJ? What experience of other functions have you had?

 

The reason I ask is that if you're just starting out then you can give yourself a bad reputation from the start if you don't get one of the brides most important days of her life right on the night.

 

Have a search of the forum because there are already lists in various threads but if this is your 1st one you do need to do some preparation in other areas as well.

wow, big thankyou to you too (andyw and digital discos) I have about half of whats on that list but i suppose we all have to start somewhere. As for exprience i've been to lot of weddings and dabbled in djing on and off for the last 15 years for family and friends but my full time job is as a professional musician who plays alot of parties and weddings in a band and i've picked up a fair few skills form watching dj's at work and fronting a band which has to go through the same things as a dj (hell!)
