penatrator 0
Hi my name is Rob from Basildon i have just signed up on this forum as i have found it very usefull. I have a full time job as a juke box engineer (amongst other pub type machines) I have been building up my kit for a few years now and i am now thinking of stating out professionally as a mobile dj. over the last few years i have mainly done local pub dj'ing and a few birthdays and weddings for friends/family and am always asked for a card etc but i always say i dont to it professionally. I was also hiring light shows as i could not afford my own. so many times i kick myself thinking of the extra money i could be earning so i have just bought myself a set of scatscans and a source celebration to start with. i know you should avoid scanners at disco's but they look so cool! i am now in the process of learning more about dmx as i want to be able to create light shows with my lights. I use a pc so i am thinking of buying some software but it is a minefield for me at the moment as i am a dmx novice, all the address setting etc looks a bit frightening!!! anyway any help from the pro's would be appreciated.. As to your DMX queries it may be worth you looking here DMX Guide the last couple of posts explain the channel settings quite well. Do not be afraid to ask questions, someone can usually give you an answer, although it may not always be what you want to see. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif Eddie Eddie <a href="http://www.vibrant-sounds.co.uk" title="Vibrant Sounds Mobile Disco & Karaoke DJ Ed Bray Eddie Bray eddiebray plymouth devon weddings birthdays parties mobilediscoplymouth" "mobile disco plymouth">www.vibrant-sounds.co.uk</a> <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>PAFC Pride of DEVON</span> C'mon U Greens

Gary 0
Hello and http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/042.gif welcome to the DJs United Forum. As far as DMX addressing, which can be a bit scary - you might find that the Coins and Paper example shown on DJs United about a year ago, may offer more clarity than the normal "To the power of" calculations that some instruction books prefer. And yes, as mentioned above, feel free to ask questions. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/Welcome.gif Edited August 24, 2006 by Gary
