spinner 0
Assuming you can get PLI cover, your best course of action, probably, would be to hire pyrotechnic equipment. Otherwise a firing controller and single pod (for a pyro cartridge) will cost around £200, plus the cost of a cartridge. To get the effect you describe you'll need at least 2, possibly 3 or even 4 pods and cartidges.

Gary 0
I used to use several types all made by company Le Maitre - for special occasions - I would hire the following pyro firing equipment: 1 x 2 channel firing controller. 2 x leads 2 x Flat flash box (pyro holder) 2 x Angled flash box Types of pyro that I favoured included: Silver fountain: A 20ft silver fountain of sparks is emmited for about 1 second. 7 Second Gerbs: A 7ft jet of sparks lasting (you guessed it) 7 Seconds - fantastic when used with the 5,4,3,2,1 Thunderbirds countdown. Streamer Cartridge: Basically a party popper, about the size of a can of Red Bull - 200 streamers - 50ft - everybody gets a bit. Maroon - A stunningly loud BANG !!! (with alot of punch) available in a range of sizes, ranging from "what on earth was that?" to "Who needs ears anyway?" Confetti cannon - this was a mini-dustbin made of thick steel - you placed 2 large maroon pyros in the bottom of it, placed a round cardboard disc (-just- slightly smaller than the diameter of the cannon) on top, and loaded 5kg of confetti into the cannon, on top of the cardboard wad. Result....confetti is shot up high into the air with a massive bang, and rains down for minutes. Least successful known (ab)use of pyrotechnics... Confetti cannon: with the 5kgs of confetti replaced with 5kgs of Cadburys Roses... they dont like G-force... and ceilings dont like high speed confectionary coming up at them, oh and kids dont like high speed confectionary coming down on them... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif

Gary 0
For a bit of variety in the fireworks department, you could always follow the exploding Dells with a couple of Sizzling Sony's - apparently these too are also plagued with the same battery issues that set Dells ablaze...
