As requested, that was...........

Have you said that a song had been requested when it hadn't, maybe to cover up a song that's bombed, or just because you wanted to play it. BE HONEST!!!

Folllowing on from the comments made about playing the same song more than once, a number of you said you would if requested, but how many times have you said that a song had been requested when it hadn't, and this was just to cover something up. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif

Have been known to say that a track has been requested before I play it if I'm not sure how it will go down. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/oops.gif

Me neither, the song was great, but I must have tired them all out, that's why they weren't dancing http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/9.gif

Of course!!

If I'm trying out a track I'm unsure of, that's usually how I'll introduce it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif

"I even say happy birthday to someone who isn`t there or even excists"

Hah! I've done similar myself.

Usually at kids' or teenagers' parties, I'll say that so-and-so says 'HI!' to another ficticious person, and often it starts the ball rolling and I start getting real people coming up to ask me to say 'hi' or something else to a friend.

Good ice breaker, and gives you something to say.

Ha ha yes done this plenty of times, in the club i work i get loads of birthday shouts so i just add the fake song request to there name.

Ho ho! I have done all of those! Read an article about Fat Boy Slim in some bloody womans magazine or Sunday supplement and i know you can't take them as being gospel truth but he admitted that during one or two live gigs he has done he has turned up with a handful of premixed CD's and pretended to mix them himself by doing his trademark arm waving and circles in the air when he has just done a great mix and in fact has done nothing more than stick a CD in and let it play. Top man! Now, i cannot mix to save my life but i bet, like me, a lot of you have pretended to mix to a premixed CD with one hand on the headphones job etc etc. Works a treat!
