I need the help of a Contibute expert please

Hi all,

 

I use Macromedia Contribute content management regularly to update a number of websites, however I am having an absolute nightmare with Contribute's connection to one particular site which has died and cannot be re-established. So, does anyone out there know Contribute well, can you help me? If so, I would really appreciate the help.

Have you tried accessing the site through a normal ftp programme?? This will start the process of illimination to find the source of the problem.

Thanks Mike, yes, being a unix type, I can do everything FTP without any issues. I just have a Macromedia Contribute configuration issue I think.

I think Contribute is the cut-down version of Dreamweaver which is what I use. If you are having trouble connecting, presumably you have connected many times before, then I would guess the problem is with the host.

 

Is the site still live?

 

Has the host reported any connectivity issues?

 

As Mikey says, if you can connect via FTP you know the problem is with your login details rather than anything specifically to do with Contribute.
