Steve_Mitchell 0
A few weeks ago I did a post on classic disco tracks and I nominated Brothers Johnson--Stomp being a classic. James Murphy had a great idea of compiling a list of classic disco tracks. So here we go. We are going to make The DJU classic Disco Floor fillers album. Am going to nominate Mr Ian Young to come up with the Front and Back covers. (No pressure Ian). Ok so if we all add just one track most of us will feature on the album. So far we have.. 1. Brother Johnson--Stomp.. Steve Mitchell 2. Hamilton Bohannon - Lets start the dance.. Chris Shepard 3. Tyrone Brunson - The Smurf.. Brian Mole 4. War-Galaxy.. Steve Marshall. 5. Jackson Sisters - I believe in miracles.. Gary Choppen 6. Fat Larry's band -Act Like you Know .. Peter Keegan 7. Patrick Hernandez - Born To Be Alive.. Robbie Downes 8. Edwin Starr - Contact .. James Murphy 9. Crown Heights Affair -You Gave Me Love.. Steve Skinner 10. Musical Youth - Pass The Dutchie..Tony Winyard 11. Kelly Marie- Feels Like Im In Love.. Danny Barret 12. The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup.. Krazy Kaz So if your name isn`t on the play list so far lets be having a suggestion. We`ll go for 12 tracks n each disc and it will be a double disc affair. I`ll complete it when its finished then I`ll go and see if we can get it pressed. With Ian`s front & Back covers it will look fabulous. Ps if anyone has a good title for the album be free to throw in you suggestions. Edited October 17, 2006 by stevemitchell Steve 5 European cups and 18 leagues, that`s what we call history. Steve_Mitchell 0
QUOTE (Paul_Smith @ Oct 17 2006, 03:02 AM) So many to choose - so little time......... I'm gonna stick with a song I mentioned on my DJU interview so many years ago but it still gets requested and still fills the floor: Love Inc - You're A Superstar and as for the CD title 'DJs United - Floorfillers Vol 1' Paul, great title and a great song chosen by youself, however, the majority of tracks seems to be 70`s/80`s decades. Perhaps our next album Vol 2 can be a bit more upto date and include Love inc. OR Disc 2 could be 90`s/2000?? What does everyone think?
