What better way to get to know a new member than a probing interview - well I couldn't provide one of those so here's some other questions instead For this weeks' I took an electronic trip to Poland - a couple of the questions didn't translate exactly but it makes for interesting reading so enjoy .....

 

1. What is your DJU Forum Alias?

My forum alias is dj_jack

 

2. What is your Real Name, Age, Location & Marital Status?

My real name is Jacek, age is 20 :), my location is Zielona Góra, wich is placed in Poland :), hmmm.... material status :) in polish zloty is 250 zl of one disco, discos are on fridays and saturdays, 8x250 what gives me 2000 zloty on month. (526.05 pounds)

 

3. What is the Name of your Disco?

Name of my Disco is "Wodnik" and second local is "York"

 

4. How long have you been a DJ?

My adventure with music beginned when I was 14 years old :P, and i'm in it 6 years :)

 

5. What inspired you to become a DJ

The satisfaction when I see people when they jump and having a good time with my music :)

 

6. Are you a member of a DJ Association / Union?

I'm a member of the Dj Promotion Association.

 

7. What is your favourite type of function now? (eg: Wedding, 18th Birthday party, etc)

Now my favorite function is playing Open Air festivals :), in this year I played on 34 festivals :)

 

8. What’s the worst/most embarrassing thing you've done in front of an audience?

I think taha was my first set :)

 

9. If you could go back to the beginning of your DJ career is there anything that you'd do differently? (eg: The gear that you bought, the way you promoted/advertised yourself)

If it will be possible i would like to change the place of my work. :)

 

10. What do you feel you offer the public that convinces them to book you rather than "the next guy/girl"?

I offer very diffrent music than other dj's. I Play Electro House, wich is verry rare in my region.

 

11. Have you ever bought something for your show that you wish you hadn't? and why?

I boughed 2x Denen s-1000 and i'm not satisfied of them., becouse they always skip :/. But now i'm playing on 2x Pioneer cdj-100s and i'm proud of them :)

 

12. What's your next DJ purchase likely to be?

Now I'm going to buy 2xPioneer cdj-1000 mk 3. :)

 

13. If you could get someone to invent a new piece of disco equipment for your show, what would it be?

From dj equipment only pioneer and technics brand, for other effects IMG StageLine

 

14. What was the worst equipment failure suffered during a gig?

Accident, One time I played and somebody wants some greets and he has poured beer on my equipment...

 

15. What do you think is the best thing about DJ'ing?

That's the satisfaction of seeing people enjoying time with music when I play :)

 

16. What do you think is the worst thing about DJ'ing?

In Poland exists a association wich have one objective - eliminate the dj's who plays from a cd-r. :P, they punish us with very high money credential.

 

17. What would make you stop DJ'ing (if anything)?

:shrug: only death :)

 

18. How do you think DJ'ing will change, in the next 5 years?

I think that it will change but not so much. Only our Payment will change

 

19. Most stupid thing anyone's ever said to you at a gig?

I don't know(my english isn't to good)

 

20. Best advice you were ever given by a fellow DJ?

That my dj technic is very professional, when i mix tracks :)

 

21. And worst advice you were ever given?

That I play Only one kind of music :P wich isn't true ;)

 

22. How do you keep up to date with music? (eg Promo monthly CDs, Downloads, Purchase from retailer)

I boy promo CD's and Vinyls every week :)

 

23. Name 3 songs that 95% of the time will fill the dance floor for you!

1.CJ Stone - Storm (Milo.NL vs. CJ Stone RMX)

2. Alex M.O.R.P.H. & rank 1 - life less ordinary

3. Stop talking - burning like fire :)

Two first tracks are Electro Trance and the last one is Electro House :)

 

24. One piece of advice you'd give to someone just starting out.

Training training and oce omore training :)

 

25. What medium format do you mainly use eg vinyl, CD, hard-drive?

I Use CD and Vinyl

 

26. Have you embraced/adapted any ideas that you've read about on DJU?

I'm new here :) on 100% I will adapt something :).

 

27. What is your best gig ever and your worst?

The best gig was on Open Air Festival in Krosno Odrzańskie :), the worst was on my 18 :P (you know why :) I was very very drunk)

 

28. What is your main (most successful) form of advertising your disco?

The best form is a radio broadcast :)

 

29. Have you ever had someone try to claim off you? (eg: Public Liability Insurance or other such legal action)No

 

30.How many tracks do you have in your music collection?

Hmmm... Something about 150 000 of tracks, but in my case is less than 3000. :)
