Stephen_N.I. 0
Hi, Downloaded windows media player 11, which has a X-fader function. Does anyone know how to use it? Usually I would work it out after a bit of fumbling, but I'm stuck this time. Thanks N2K Entertainments http://www.n2kentertainments.co.uk stephen@n2kentertainments.co.uk

If you have a playlist, turn the cross fade feature on Set the amount of overlap in seconds. When you activate the playlist, tracks will be cross-faded Automatically. Hope this helps. jeffwall 0
Forget media player and use winamp instead, is ideal for track overlay and easier to use....also rock solid wont crash! Unless of course your gunna go for some pro dj software (would be better) ie PCDJ or OTS but winamp is a good freebee to start with
Whisky In A Vase 0
I have noted that lots of entertainers (artists, singers comedians atc) are starting to use laptops and the winamp software, Virtual DJ for me.

jeffwall 0
Yep you have to pay for the DJ software, however as a freebee, winamp is very good for just a single player and overlay "mixing" fader. Loads skins available and add ons like karaoke player etc if you want to play around abit Download it here for free http://www.tucows.com/preview/193563 Fader controlls........ Click config pull-down menu Click equalizer just below the balance slider click the two arrows button to "ON" (fader on) Then select your fade time.....I set mine to 10 seconds and works well for me You can highlight the next song to be played from your music files, then press enter to play it just after the main duration slider has dissappeared.......will mix the end of one into the beggining of the other Note this is just really for background music and not proffesional mixing. as its just an overlay...but works well!
