Dju Members Website Reviews

Recommended Posts

Well much like waiting for a bus we had no Web Site Reviews for a month or so and now they're coming in thick and fast!

Next up is RobbieDJ who has just finished reworking his website at http://www.magicmoments-disco.co.uk/.

Robbie obviously fears no evil and is walking into the valley of death and leaving himself open to your mercy on your views of his website!

Do you think it's a good site, any aspects that particularly impressed you or alternatively really turned you off the site?

Over to you...

OK then .....

My top 10 suggestions:

  1. In your HTML for the title you have simply 'Index' or 'Music' etc. Some search engines use the title as the 1st basis of putting you in the results so it needs to be a bit longer (not too long mind)
  2. On your 1st 2 pages the ic of Magic in your header was higher than the other letters
  3. I would also suggest making your 2nd line (sub header) slightly smaller than the top line and possibly a different colour as well
  4. Lose the animated GIF on the index page
  5. Lose the counter
  6. What is the 'coupon' link at the bottom?
  7. Page 2 irish should be Irish
  8. By the time I got to your Shows page I couldn't read anymore. The combination of constant white lettering on a blue background and the fact that it is all in italics made it heavy going. Plus there is so much information to read. This is not a bad thing but it needs to be broken up with maybe some sub para headings in a different colour or a few more pictures.

Sorry only managed 8 tongue out icon I'll read the rest later - overall though a good site & I liked the Gallery.

Agree with 5Stars comments above (he always beats me to it!).

And actually think that the site is nice.. The constant white on blue does put you off after a while, especially when it is bolded on the weddings page but...

You may want to stop the constant italics and swap over to plain text with different colours or backgrounds at times.

I would also change the title of the 1st pic on your site that says Small setup - If you do do different packages and prices, change it to say usual setup so that people don't get put off by thinking that's small (as it's quite large!)

Other than that, once the text has been changed I think you'll have a good site.

You just need to get up earlier tongue out icon

I've had a look at the final few pages and still found the 'Shows' page heavy going after a couple of paragraphs when it all started to blur. The only other thing I noticed is that some paras are indented and some are not and the gap between paragraphs is not constant - minor stuff but every little helps.

Nice site, I like it.

One thing I've noticed though, the name 'Magic Moments' the 'c' in Magic isn't displaying properly in the Music page and sometimes the Index page as well. It may just be a compatibility issue with Firefox, but I'm not sure.
