Anyone done a Disco at Oakley Hall?

I have a wedding there this coming saturday and have been informed by the groom this evening that it is in the marquee. He never informed of this when he booked me and has just returned from a 2 week holiday in the Seychelles where he got married.

I'm not too bothered as it's not a problem but wondered if anyone else had been there and done a disco in the marquee? I am taking my JBL JRX125's plus a pair of actives for some boost or monitoring.

Anything I should know in advance or look out for on the night?

Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks in advance.

Of course, I am taking a full set up and not just some speakers...thought I'd get in before anyone made some of the more obvious comments!

I've never been there, but I've heard the rumours. Nice place, quite strict, don't forget your PAT and PLI. It might be worth ringing them to ask about access as I doubt you will be able to drive across the lawn, also ask them about available space and when you are expected to set up. Don't forget to secrete a bottle of coke behind the kit as the bar prices are likely to be second mortgage prices. Oh, and press the tux, you will want to look right for the job. - Now which smileys do I use now :dan+ju:    :ads: :fan: :fear: :fright: :omg: :wall: Um, they all seem quite apropraite

..playing all the hits for you...

....whether you may be....

Why can't I see what i going on???

Cheers, sorry I didn't mention it before.

I have already sent the wedding co-ordinator my PLI and PAT details by email and she was impressed that I did it so quickly (back in november) as she said she had been waiting for other DJ's to do it who leave it until the last moment.

I have also arranged a set up time with her too. As far as wearing a tux etc... I never do, I wear smart attire but never a tux...I don't own one and I wouldn't wear one unless I was requested to do so.

Thanks again.

Interesting, I have had feedback from a few potential brides telling me they think the look of a tux on a DJ is ridiculous nowadays. I wear one when required by the client, but interesting the way things are moving....

....and Brian, that's EXACTLY why I won't wear one!

No disrespect to anyone that does wear one but it's just not me..I look more like a bouncer (or so I'm told).

The guy called me this morning (woke me up) and has already asked if it would be ok to play on if everything is going well. I said that there would be no problem IF it was ok with the hotel and that it would obviously cost a bit more.
