deejaymitch 0
At least you are burying your head in the sand Mickey. You are able to assess things rationally and identify problems before they escalate. That's a big plus. It's going to be a rough trot for a lot of us, but I hope you pull through it. Oh, and if that's a recent pic, you look well for 49. Chin up. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.
Mickey P. 0
Cheers Mitch, it's only about two years old. Thing is I seem to get older every day? "More Cheese Grommit?"
Sang 0
I can't believe the amount of information that is available on here. Infact I'm amazed. My neighbour who is a dj took me under his wing and normally I DJ on the internet on a shameful MMPORG (holy crap that makes me sound like a geek) But the transition from Internet DJing to a Pub gig is completely an entirely different setup. I did my first pub gig and after reading this thread, everything made perfect sense. BTW I loved the apples and pears in old kent road. Just the only thing with mostly all pubs I've visited, either they are themed, or art deco. I just want to thank all the contributers on this site for a very enlightening read. weekender45 0
yes , supply and demand, people when they go out these days are drinking less ( over 30s) as drinks are usually overpriced and the social aspects dont appear to be there anymore. Our working mens clubs and facilities with function rooms lie idle for most weekends of the year because as you say to justify even £100 for a dj an additional £400 in bar takings is essential to make it viable. CD Pool 0
So, who regularly goes to the pub to hear a DJ then? I tend to go very rarely, just for a drink with friends / colleagues. If I want to hear a DJ, I will go to a specialist night at a bar / club / venue. Absolutely spot on Brian!
