jamminroadshow 0 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Share Posted April 16, 2007 a good advert for business? really?. when was the last time you jotted down the details of the side of a van at traffic lights or on the road, how many of you actually carry a pen and paper for that very purpose?. i'm getting old and in 23 years of driving i am proud to say that i have never used the side of a van to procure a service!. Signwriting is good for only 3 things. Advertising your name to the oiks who'll part you from your gear faster than the government parts you with cash, reducing the value of your vehicle when it comes to part exchanging it and spoiling surprise birthdays when the person turns up on the car park and sees knobby's disco painted in huge fluorescent letters on the transit parked right near the firedoor. Most insurance companies will also load your premium with the higher risk factor too, thats why they ask the question on the online quote forms. :Thumbup: Link to post Share on other sites

I checked. The reason they asked if it was signwritten was so that it was covered in event of an accident, which i still cannot believe. And i have got at least 10 bookings in 2 years from it ( so it has earned it's keep many times over. Have also never had gear nicked from it......in many years of having a sign written van. However if you leave gear in it you are obviously asking for trouble If we all worried about what might happen we would never do anything. The only money I spend on advertising is a) the van and b) the website and have to say both have been very cost effective....to the point I dont have to advertise elsewhere. swift 0 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Share Posted July 1, 2007 Hi my name is grant and it is my hearse and i run discos revenge . just thought i say hi hi it my hearse and i get at least 2 bookings a month from the hearse because people have seen it in tesco or at the pub and want it at there gig and i get a lot of bookings where people want me to pic them up in it and dive them to the gig in it and last week it was hired out as a wedding car and i got the gig djing aswell i think it depends on the van/car if your van is unquinc then go for it but if it a old white rust heep then it would give the wrong messag Link to post Share on other sites
