laptop and cds. probably 60/40 split but thats probably down to laziness as i haven't converted all of my cd over yet. i am also waiting for about 12 - 18 months to see how others fare with their new hd controllers before considering them.

1. PC built into console (I've just selected tower/desktop)

Laptop as backup.

Quite fancy a pair of tabletop CD players at some point though for more creative stuff.

Mainly CD although I also use Laptop that has downloads from Itunes/Tesco's etc. Have ripped most of my CD's to external hard drive. Just bought external sound card and am working towards using laptop more but its a case of changing the CD habit.

I use a Laptop for main laptop for second and a cortex HDC-1000 for back up..

your so confident in your laptop that you need a second one and a HDC as a backup...

and the HDC being the newest bit of kit is so good it only gets used when 2 latops fail...

:omg:

Me, I use S5000s and the HD2500 all at the same time.. if one fails it wont affect the night and you would be hard pushed to tell that somthing went wrong. all CD players and decks are wired in and working all the time so i just move to the next deck....

Many thanks for taking the time to NOT answer the question that this thread was asking :ouch: ;thumbdown:

I carry back up as a precaution... As all pro DJs do... My main laptop is used with otsdj plus sports sounds pro (a nifty little player for fx and stuff) my second laptop is used for my DMX lighting but also usable as a back up to laptop 1..

I brought the HDC to 1 try it out and 2 as my wife does kids parties for her to use... So I will also have this in the trailer so its a sort of third back up... :amen:

I did answer the question and fill out the poll..

I was also amaized at all the money you must spend on laptops and controllers only as a backup...

I brought the HDC to 1 try it out

could you not have tried it out in the shop rather than spend the money first.. what if it didnt do what you wanted it to do, second hand value on a HDC-1000 is about the same cost as a can of coke in tescos..

I use CD's primarily but with a laptop as well. I carry both a dual cd player and laptop as backup. I also carry backup external hard disks. I'm working on backups for my backup gear now ;)

both CDs and laptop.

Use both to complement each other but mainly use CD's, think it might be a comfort thing.

I think that I know exactly where you're coming from, but can you elaborate on the "comfort" thing?

primarily CD's, and take 1 case with the most popular tunes on that I play, followed by a laptop with everything else on,

1. for those songs that I don't carry on CD
