brianmole 0
I play the normal album version, possibly like everyone else, but seeing the video again reminded me of an extended version I have heard in the distant past. The extended bit is the bit where the ghouls do that dance. Does anyone know where I can buy this version?

It may be that the video of "Thriller" is the only way of getting it.
RobbieD 0
Hi Brian, As far as I know, at the times there was no official longer version on vinyl (although DMC may have done a longer mix). The 12" was the same as the album version. I used to use two copies of the 12" to extent the middle, by using parts of the B-side instrumental version so that people could do the dance. (A few times I even tried to sync it up to the video.) I'm sure I wasn't the only person to do that, so it may be that you heard a DJ doing that.
brianmole 0
Thanks guys, ripping the video is not workable, too much going on other than the music. If you look at the similar topics post by Paul Smith below, it's that wedding video which gave me the idea.

jamminroadshow 0
I think that there was only ever the Video version that was that long the other way it to cut it up and then make it into one song getting rid of the moving about bit in the middle <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
Norfolk DJ 0
I still play it if requested and always play the album version, as it has the excellent Vincent Price talking at the end. Shows that i'm geeting old when someone on here hasn't played through the 'Thriller' album!
