Hi Folks

I was wondering if any mobile dj's located in the Somerset / Avon / Devon area would interested working together i.e passing on work, equipment failure etc etc..

The reason for this post was that on my way to a gig on Saturday I realised I didnt have any local DJ's in my area that I could fall back on if an emergency was to occur.

As most of us work on our own I was thinking of some sort of phone number database that could cover the following:

Extra gigs that cannot be covered.

Last minute gigs to be covered due to illness etc etc.

Equipment failure - Helping out with speakers and amps

Support if you break down i.e Maybe one of us could get to a venue and set up our own gear whilst you get yourself sorted etc

I already know Andy H, but would be great to have some sort of contact with other jocks in the area that we can trust.

I know most of us have some sort of back up plan i.e equipment, the missus car etc but thought it would be a good idea to build some sort of contact list.

Let me know what you think?

Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not fully 'in the wild' yet so will keep out off the contact list for now, until I'm fully sorted.

Whilst on the subject of transport backup, I recall a tip on here regarding keeping a list of phone numbers with you of people who can get you to your gig if you should break down. RAC & AA can't always be relied on to arrive promptly, so far better if you can phone up a mate who can at least get your gear to the gig. Getting home is another matter of far less importance and can be sorted out after the gig has successfully been completed.

I now have 4 names on my list - people with estate cars and towing hitches who will probably be available if needed. (For a fee, of course.)

How about you?

Hey thats never too far, when I move to sunny Devon it SHOULD only take me about an hour and a quarter from Weymouth so I may eventually even cover this area with gigs for the right price tongue out icon.

I know Andy H has done a gig a lulworth castle. Thanks for your input.
