Norfolk DJ 0
Done 2 gigs now since 1st July and the whole atmosphere is much much better. People in a good mood, clean fresh air and smokers happily going outside. Certainly I have not noticed empty dancefloor. Great stuff.
jayboy 0
you are right about the good clean air but i whant to see the change in there reaction when winter comes and its freezing out side it will make our jobs a litel harder i think :drama: but it will be fun. it wasnt that bad befor anyway idont think. cheers jayboy
spinner 0
Smoking free areas were becoming increasingly prevalent before July 1 and most hotels I've worked at in the past year or so have not allowed smoking in their function rooms.
jayboy 0
thats a good piont but most hotels have a loby you can smoke in or a bar ect
spinner 0
thats a good piont but most hotels have a loby you can smoke in or a bar ect Maybe. But I doubt that it will make much difference if they now have to go right outside. I can think of a number of dedicated wedding venues, especially those with expensive antique oil paintings on the walls, where smoking has not been allowed anywhere inside for a number of years. jamminroadshow 0
Not sure it is better as most people on a really warm night will spend most of the night outside can hear the music and do not see the point in going back in poor us in there with small amount of people. Amuses me that you can buy booze anytime you want but watch out if you want to smoke in doors. 4 members of my family have died due to drink 1 through smoking mind you i better be quiet or Hitler (sorry Labour) will make a new rule how about you are not allowed to drink outside <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>

Mattaious 0
When in skegness this weekend, We met up with some friends or a night out, Only down a local pub with okey dokey karaoke on, So all night im in and out to smoke, up and down to the bar, But by the end of the night getting really cheesed off, Even more when non smokers were coming out to chat to us, then moaning about the smoke! Hey ho, all good fun though, I must admit it was weird not to light up indoors, and keep going outside, even more weird to be sat in a room which is apparently called smoking room! Weird , the Choice???? mmmmm? :otop:

High Fidelity 0
I have a little chuckle to myself every morning when I walk through the town centre from where I park to where I work. Since last Monday all the shops are plastered with these "It is illegal to smoke in these premises" stickers. I haven't seen anybody smoking in a shop for years. Quitting Smoking & Drinking doesn't make you live longer It just feels like it.

exbutlinred82 0
Well i'm sorry to you all but up North here they are pretty heavy smokers. Done a Sunday Night Quiz for four years and tripled the attendance....one of the things I was most proud off.Now the evening is peppered with fag breaks and people naffing off halfway through trax they have previously exalted me for finding. ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING. Like MFI now....all chairs and no-one sat on them half the time. Glad you Southern Softies are all so pleased tho.Look out Winters coming. They won't stop smoking(they can't) they'll just go where they are welcome(home).
Dukesy 0
I have to echo some of what exbutlinred82 says. evening is peppered with fag breaks and people naffing off halfway through trax they have previously exalted me for finding. Was performing down the road (Staffordshire borders) on Saturday - the smokers were in and out, following one another like little lost sheep! Not so much heartbreaking for me but more of a realisation for the client!
