brianmole 0
Just back from a few days away in France, on Saturday I did a wedding in a beautiful marquee in the middle of the garden of england (Kent). This had to be one of the biggest marquees I have done in recent years, the main area was the size of a tennis court which it was set on, and there were big kitchen, loo, and reception areas of it too. Altogether about 250 guests, 40 staff, fully boozed and catered by one of the very top caterers in the business with a steel band and fireworks to boot. The next day, the marquee was being used for a birthday party with similar numbers and a Jazz band. I turned up at 5pm before all the guests arrived at 7pm, set up the disco and a speeches PA. The weather was stunning, I started at about 10pm and finished at midnight, completely packed dancefloor all night - very satisfying. At about 11pm, it started raining hard - this did not stop till about 7am (I know as I was still on site). A few piccies: http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/7967.jpg http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/7969.jpg http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/7971.jpg http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/7972.jpg No then, for the reason I was still there at 7am, and the Hell bit of this event .... When I finished packing up, I went to fetch the car to load up. I got stuck in the mud and being an auto no chance of moving. The staff tried to give me a push, but no good.... By then everyone had left so, I called out the RAC at 2am. They told me that the earliest they could get me out was 6:30am. I went to sleep on a very cold marquee floor waiting for them. Unfortunately their contractor could not find the venue, so when I called them back at 7am to find out where they had got to, there was another 2 hours to wait for them to return. At 9am, they found the place and I got pulled out of the mud, loaded up, drove home arriving at 11am. And yes, it was Mrs Mole's birthday - guess who's in the sh:cense:house then? http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/7977.jpg
FrankieJ 0
Oh dear Brian never mind you will have to buy her an expensive gift to make up for it. Love this pics mate and as always your set up is very proffesional and neat looking. Tell me do you have the Par Cans on a dmx controller? or are they on the auto flash setting? I have found that when I run mine my 4 from my Sairville controller that I cant seem to get two on and two off at the same time so that they run in different seqences is that something to do with the Thomann Par Cans? Also did you uplight the marquee with uplighters as it has a purple glaze to it? Sorry about all the questions. DJ Frankie Knuckles.

Par cans are Tomann ones on a DJ Dicky Dongle thing with Freestyler running. I don't try to have what you describe, so don't really know... The carpet was bright pink hence the purply look to the marquee.

brianmole 0
The disco was required from 10:30 pm to midnight, speeches were between 7pm and 10pm, so I set up the disco on the stage minus an L1, and an L1 by itself near the lectern for speeches. When they were over, I just carried it over to the stage and plugged it in. Voila!
