old soul 0
My Cousin's engagement tomorrow night, which should be entertaining, then a small local bar on the waterfront on Saturday, which is fantastic if the weather is good, they have a large wooden deck over the water, BBQ on the deck, and the sun sets in front of you. Tends to be a mostly background music type event too, though sometimes gets going for the last hour, but a very relaxing night to get paid for, and 1/2 mile from home  Neil B

High Fidelity 0
A very enjoyable evening last night with ChrisP doing an 80th at Congleton Cricket Club. http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/21605262366.jpg Made a nice change to play some different music to the normal disco stuff. guess what we were playing here: http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/21605262456.jpg Really need to do something with my setup though to get it more compact. Last track finished at 11:45, and at 11:56, everything was packed away ready to load into the car. Quitting Smoking & Drinking doesn't make you live longer It just feels like it. They aren't, they're on a stage! Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish. TonyB 0
Last night was a last minute booking. DJ who was going to do the gig decided he was going on holiday and canceled. The birthday boy resigned (it was his 70th) to the fact that he was going to have to play a few CD's on his stereo but his daughter secretly booked me. Was a bit worried about the area, Dagenham is not the smartest area in Essex and some of the guests were built like brick :poo: houses with tatoo's and earings. What have I let myself in for I wondered. They turned out to be one of the friendliest bunch of people I have worked for. Played mainly 60's 70's & 80's. Plenty of cheese. Was due to finish at 12.30 but a wadge of notes appeared and they asked me to play for another hour. Turned out to be an unexpected well paid cracking gig. By the time I packed up and got home it was gone 3am so feeling a bit  today. Edited August 5, 2007 by TonyB
Partyprint 0
Bad weekend for me, Saturday - 60th birthday, I get there to find a nice big limiter waiting for me, (a very sesitive one at that). I played happy birthday for the birthday girl, at the chorus I turned the music down so everybody could sing it an yes that set it off thats how sensitive it was. Then at 10.55 a member of staff come over to tell me I had to play the last song. "What its only 5 to eleven" "yea but we've got an injunction and have to stop at 11" I was booked till 12. (guests wasn't too happy) Sunday - Christening, nice small room, nice guests but it would have been cooler in a sauna, seriously it was that hot! datamoons decided to turn off for 45 mins (assume they were too hot) everyone was too stuffy, kids didnt want to play any games, buffet started smelling funny.
