Dj Or Thug?

I am always self conscious of my appearance, I think I look more like a thug than a DJ, probably because I'm 6'2" thick set and have shortish cropped hair.

 

How about you lot, what do you think you look like?

I'm 6'3 and built like a brick out-house, so when the little squirt comes up to give you grief, he thinks again when he see's how big you are. :paula:

I'm 6ft 4"(every inch matters!!!) and well built and on the one hand don't get much grief but every so often there is the idiot who wants to mess with me. I have never had to lose my temper and only once have I had to grab someone and make him see sense!!! I can look a bit menacing I suppose but people who know me know I am a big softy really... What was that....DO YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME.....WELL DO YA........

I've never had a problem (5' 10") Now this could be because we tend to have better quality clients as a rule, or it might be the fact that I look like a Hell's Angel & have some obvious missing / broken teeth. Even in black tie get up I look menacing. God knows what I'll look like if I start going bald & have to crop my hair! (I scare small children as it is)

Not that I've ever had a lot of trouble, but I get the distinct feeling that if certain (inadequate?) males have had a little too much to drink, they feel they have to challenge who/what they see as being in a position of leadership, i.e. the DJ, and the bigger the DJ is, the more attractive the challenge, no matter how irrational or dangerous (?) that challenge may be.

 

Maybe they feel they have something to prove?

 

Any trouble I have had seems to have come from the shorter guys - the big blokes have tended to act relatively normal, although this is very much a generalisation.

 

Oh, I'm 6'2" by the way, and fat. smile icon

 

I've never thought of myself as looking scary, but I've fairly recently discovered through idle chat that a couple of women in my village used to be a bit wary/frightened of me before they got to know me; I suppose when I've had my head sharpened to a grade 2 I might look a bit iffy to some - dunno. :shrug:

 

I noticed last night at an 18th, once one of a group of girls had 'made first contact', the requests came thick and fast, and we developed a good rapport; Was this initial hesitancy due to my appearance, I'm wondering, or just normal human shyness?

 

This thread has got me thinking now...

 

I'd like to get my two upper front teeth crowned, as many years ago I had root canal treatment in both and they have now become fairly discoloured and look like a case of poor dental hygiene, which isn't the case.

iam 6ft and a bit on the skiny side but women still hug me witch is very nise indeed.

 

and as for geting any problems from clients or there guests no real problems. but as with 99% of all you djs on hear theres that one night were you have had some trouble because you havent had chance to play the song for the drunked or thay whant one more and the venue have said you have to finish.

 

but on the hole its fine.

I'm a 5' 7" wimp smile icon . Touch wood I've never had any trouble yet but reading threads of some people that have had trouble, I find it a bit worrying that something could kick off. I always smile when I speak to someone and try and build up a rapport with whomever I talk to.

i,am just under 6 foot and 10 and half stone average build. been told in the past i look intimidating due to very short cropped hair and unfortunatly i half multiple scars on my head (from an accident) but in reality i,am properly the most get on with guy ever
