Highlight Of Your Weekend?

Recommended Posts

Another weekend has passed

How was it for you?

What was your highlight of the weekend?

Mine? - Rummaging through the garage and found an old coat with £20 in it --- woohoo!

The weather undoubtedly. Played at the local Marina bar last night, and the setting was fantastic, watching the sun set down behind the boats, will post up a picture later if I get them off the camera.

The audience was more interested in an evening of chilling out with their BBQ and a few drinks rather than getting down with their bad selves, so spent a lot of the evening working through my classic eighties stuff, and got lots of comments on how nice the music and evening was.

The undoubted bonus was the fact that it took me all of about 3 minutes to get home afterwards tongue out icon

Couple of pictures as mentioned, one is the view from the large outside decking area, which is actually over the water, and where I spent a good part of the evening working from, the other is my ugly mug with my now very tatty looking gear, which is likely to get upgraded shortly.

Personal - Sitting on a deck chair in the middle of Clumber Park with my wife and young un and two good friends with thiers, a full belly (BBQ) watching a Men v Women game of rounders (specially the lass in the pink top - hubba hubba), sun beating down and no need to move for the next 4 hours!

Professional - Metioned to the lass that served me in Vodafone that the pub played her sort of music and she not only turned up with her husband but a crowd of about 20 others AND stayed all night! - now THATS how to earn brownie points off of the landlord

Are you gonna hug me and tell me how much you love me, or are you gonna shoot me?

Gig Saturday night was great and I enjoyed it but felt cream crackered afterwards. Sunday I was invited to a French evening by my niece who has just returned from holiday there. Sat in the garden drinking French wine (red and white), sampling French cheeses and Pate. For the first time, I tried les escargots and don't think I would rush to try them again.

I had the pleasure of being compere again to an excellant group - they were called Yesteryear who were a Tribute Group covering: Buddy Holly, Billy Fury, Elvis Presley and Eddie Cochrane - they absolutely awesome, 1 guy singing Elvis Presley and Eddie Cochrane and another doing Billy Fury and Buddy Holly, the bass guitarist was good and the drummer absolutely brill. The best thing about it was the guy doing Buddy Holly/Billy Fury was only 19 years old and he was excellant.

I played before during and after as usual at The Saddlers Club, Walsall.

The guys came over at the end and complemented me on the music that i played and for once they were not battling against the DJ!

They even had my number and email and want to work with me again - so i had a cracker Saturday night.

There were even people under 25 dancing to this group - once again proving that young people do not all like dance or r'n'b

Sorry for boring you all

Mr P

Finding out that Tesco now stocks one of the finest ciders on the planet, Burrow Hill Cider.

Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know

Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish.

The opinions of Corabar Steve are not necessarily those of Corabar Ltd or any of it's subsidiary companies
