Went through a stage in the 1980's of playing 'You make me feel (Mighty real) at every gig, but for some reason or another, i never hardly play it now. Must dig it out and make apoint of playing it this weekend.

I also recall that syvester and patrick cowley - Do you wanna funk was a massive club track in the early 80's as well

Great tracks both of them, which I played to death back when I started. Unfortunately, I think they are a little fast for the age group who remember them best - I've not played either of those for years but might risk one at a forthcoming 40th. smile icon

Don't risk it! :joe:

I've tried a couple of times in last few months, but floor killer.

To be honest I don't know how people could dance to it these days...????

Funny thing.. was helping a mate setup for his gig tonight and we stuck Do you wanna funk (amongst other tracks) on whilst playing with lights and tidying... I thought to myself its one I should play one more often....

Cult club track back in the 1980's but a minor hit. Unlikely that people would recognise it now unless i am missing something :dan+ju:

Have a listen to Edwin Starr vs Sylvester on one of the mastermixes. I think it's fandabbydozzy

Hmm I'd like to hear that one. Which number mastermix is it?

I've tested it on my teenage kids, and they all know it.

Yep, there were plenty of straight forward disco mix sets in the 80's. Kept the dance floor packed!

I always used to line up Contact with Knock On Wood & Born To Be Alive.

You Make Me Feel was usually doubled woth I Feel Love.

In answer to my kids knowing the Sylvester tracks, yes, they know both of them, but almost certainly because they've heard me playing them at gigs where they were allowed to come along, such as gigs in my own village.

I'll have to try these out on an unsuspecting crowd sometime, and guage the reaction. smile icon
