Do you intend to use this mixer for DJing then? Surely this is more suited to a band or production.

Answer is , not for dj'ing really,

With moving to greece im going to concentrating on karaoke with music inbetween. So looking for a mixer/amp combined to save lugging everything about, And with dsp on it,

Its only 150watts per side at the usual 8 ohms, and thats maximum!

Wont power much from that to be honest, my hifi has a bigger amp! haha

It's perfect for DJ and Karaoke.

The only down side to it is there is no cue outputs on each channel.

Jim

The ability to listen to each channel before it goes live is a fundamental requirement of DJing IMO, so I find this statement a contradiction in terms.

Better going for this one as this is the later version of the PMH1000

PMP 1000

This will give you more power.

Both are rack mountable. I have the PMH1000, PMH5000, PMP1000,

The PMP series is much better.

Digital Fusion Entertainments

Bose L1 system user.

On the face of it yes, but........

I use PCDJ and have the cue from that on my laptop headphone out then on to a little pre amp for my headphones :joe:

Clear as mud.

I had the PMH3000 and found it a little underpowered for what I wanted so went back to seperate amp.

I'm now using the same mixer though, but without the amp and find it brill.

the only disadvantage I found is that the mon out is pre-fader, which I wanted to use for the powered sub, but I've got round this by using the CD out sockets.

Quitting Smoking & Drinking doesn't make you live longer

It just feels like it.

Im getting confused now,

Cant make me mind up which way foward,

The only other way is to keep my current setup and purchase a 19" rackmount mixer with dsp for the mics,

Or a seperate echo reverb unit and wire it in that way.

Any more advice?

What kind of work are you doing with this mixer.. is it 90% Karaoke or 50/50 or mostly DJ work with the karaoke once in a while...

if your serious about your DJ work then get a DJ mixer with effects send and return loops on each channel..

add a little mixer with effects piped into your main DJ mixer where you controll all the music levels and over all mic levels..

if your 90% karaoke then get a nice multi channel audio desk type mixer ....

behringer im sure do a echo/reverb unit that can be racked up with all your DJ gear to provide effects for karaoke and then you have a choice of any DJ mixer you like..

90% karaoke

Moving away from the dj'ing and towards the karaoke side.

Got several hotels in greece that ive managed to secure work with . Purely karaoke.

Ive looked at the numark mixer and it looks ok, just wonder what its like in use, what the reverd is like etc

The below is much more expensive but it (or it's bigger brothers) is a superb machine.

Excellent control over the sound and they last forever.

Dynacord Powermate

They also make a DJ version,

DJ Powermate

Good luck with your purchase,

John

:scared: :fear:

Slightly over my budget

Cheers anyway

That's the one I currently use. It can take up to 5 mics and add effects to them.

The main reason I went for this one was the mic effects coupled with the normal DJ mixer. It's an OK mixer - nothing bad or special but OK. The mic effects are good though.

Two things that I miss though (& overlooked) - no auto music fade on talkover on the main mic and no BNC for a light.
