Eurolite Led Par64 Floorspot Rgb Black

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am thinking of buying these, a couple initially but a few more later when funds allow.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/eurolite_led_par6...t_rgb_black.htm

I like the way you can floor mount or truss mount them, so i can do backlighting, dance floor lighting etc. They seem flexible.

Couple of questions.

1. Anyone used then, are they any good ?

2. Will they pass a UK PAT test if I cut off the euro plug and replace it with an IEC male ?

Thanks

Dave

Only thing I would say is that the cable grip going into the unit has now come loose on all of the units. To be fair I haven't tried to open them up yet and it may be easy to solve, but it's a little gripe!

Which means that you shouldn't be using them.

Just because they may have been pat tested and still within the dates on the label doesn't mean that they are safe, it is akin to a car having a bald tyre, just because its MOT is valid doesn't stop you getting prosecuted for the bald tyre.

The cable grips are very poorly mounted, and it can be a bit of a bind getting the board out of the front to gain access.

If you cut off the plug you invalidate the warranty. CPC do a euro to uk plug adaptor which fits over the existing plug. Don't buy the ones on the Thomann site, they're for a shucko plug and don't fit.

The cable grips are easy to remedy just unscrew the pozi screw on the top that holds the back and front part together (just like a normal par can) and the cable grip is easily accesible. No need to touch the front panel at all.
