You register for free and pay for details of any enquiries (between £5 & £10 each). Personally I wouldn't because: You have no way of knowing the 'genuineness' of the enquiry before you pay for it You have no guarantee of success and although all advertising/promotion is a gamble this appears to me to be a higher risk If you are one of those members who converts 100% of enquiries into bookings then there is no gamble and you should go for it. If, however, you are like me and don't then look at your percentages and, for instance, if you convert one in five then that one could've cost you up to £50 in fees. For me it's not about the quantity of enquiries (esp if I had to pay for each one) more the quality of those enquiries. Will this site attract the top payers or those looking for the cheapest deal :shrug: I'm also rather as to why someone would risk using Google in their company name. If they (Google) decide they don't agree with this use then it's 'Sandbox here we come' as a minimum. Link to post Share on other sites

At the moment there aren't that many functions within a reasonable traveling distance for me. If it works, the costs don't seem that bad. For £20 a year you get a "Plus Profile" which gives access to free enquiries. They look like the functions that have been on the site for a week or so and not had any replies. The cost of replying to an enquiry is £0.50 for budgets of £0 to £150 or £1 for budgets of £151 to £300. Not sure what the cost is for higher budgets because I haven't seen anyone set a higher budget. There is currently an enquiry for a wedding disco at a local wedding venue that I know. Starting prices for a Saturday wedding at this venue are £7000 + vat. Their budget for a disco is £0 to £150 and they have had two replies. If anything I can see this type of site driving down the price of disco's. I was thinking of spending 50p to reply and let them know what they are likely to get for £150 smile icon It looks as though most of the wedding functions get replied to but there are loads of parties with no reply including lots of 18th's and 21st's. I'll keep an eye on it. There are probably a lot of DJ's on there with the free trial at the moment but I wonder how many are going to stay and pay. Link to post Share on other sites

Jim I did see that but thought do I really want to put a link on my site that gives potential clients the option of putting their function up for tender to the lowest bidder. Just put it on a page called linkz.html instead of links.html and send that page to them, the clients will never see it or alternatively just put the link there until you get the credit then delete it, thats what I do with DJU (kidding). This is the whole problem......people set dont mind paying out £7000 for a really nice venue for their reception.....they want a really nice disco to compliment it.....and they are only prepared to pay £150...... :wall: So whats the address of this site.....I mostly like doing 18ths and 21sts......would be interested in this site you mentioned as Im trying to steer away from weddings as I find them a bit on the dull side (or at least some of them can be). My main business is aerials and satellite installations and I am forever been inundated with unsolicited emails from these type of companies. One of which is called Orderwork and they operate like an auction. The job goes to the highest bidder and the money offered is disgraceful...I have not and never will take work from anybody like this. But the bit that took the pee was the card charge of £1.95!!!!!! A total of £3.45 to send an email! Steering well clear now! Sometimes in the pursuit of perfection one can get blinded by size.
