Gary 0
Price/Fee is always a secondary consideration, or so we are told... so, for the sake of discussion, let us assume that all the different functions listed in this poll would earn you the same £. What would be your most favourite and your least favourite types of function?
Wayno 0
Love 21sts with guests mostly the same age. Hate christmas dinner dances with multiple companies! Sometimes in the pursuit of perfection one can get blinded by size. If you believe you can acheive. Add life to your days not days to your life. [/img]
buskersball 0
Love 21sts with guests mostly the same age. Hate christmas dinner dances with multiple companies! For sheer variety of music you can play (and knowledgable party goers) give me a sixtieth any time. Everything from Rock n roll through to modern stuff...and you don't just have to play well known hits...the odd obscure Dylan track or whatever always gets good comments from those in the know
TonyB 0
I love 40th birthdays. They are my era and I find I relax and enjoy them more than any other function. Worst is any younger party up to 21st with a mixed family where the birthday person wants lots of more up to date tracks and the older family members are asking for older tracks. When you change genre, someone moans amd they become hard work.
Mattaious 0
My favourite is the 18th's - I tend to find all types of music goes down from the 60's to new stuff Im not so keen on awards ceremonys - i did a couple last year and they were on difficult crowd
Paul Smith 0
I went for the all day breakfast er wedding as my favourite. There is quite a lot of hanging around but it gives me a chance to really get to know the guests before the evening disco (& staff too). However it is a business I run so let us assume that all the different functions listed in this poll would earn you the same £. a mid afternoon one for 2 hours then an evening one :joe:
Norfolk DJ 0
it has to be a 40th party with no kids, only aldults.

bluejools 0
Best for me - evening wedding, but really any wedding will do worst, weekly pub - had one and found it soul destroying.

TonyB 0
Ditto that 40th no kids = The Best Kids don't bother me at 40ths. Last one I done, son of birthday girl come up to me while I was setting up and asked if I could play High School Musical before the party started. I put it on while I was setting up and it kept them happy. Another gig I done, the kids had practiced a dance to Fame and asked that I played it at 9pm. The adults all watched and it went down really well.
davemoody 0
My favourite has got to be weddings. I just enjoy playing a mix of everything. As long as there are not too many kids because the little ankle biters take over the floor and nobody else dances. They just end up in their seats all night watching the littrle darlings!!! Also I like the christmas parties for companies as you can play them off each other and do a couple of silly games if the venue wants it. You know the score, kings and queens, irish bingo, days of xmas etc etc. So I quite enjoy them for a change. I hate doing kids parties and 18ths/21sts as for me they are a waste of time. They always ask for some obscure stuff even though you have had a request sheet beforehand.
Paul Smith 0
You know the score, kings and queens, irish bingo, days of xmas etc etc. I have used Days of Christmas in the past but what are the other 2 about?
davemoody 0
Kings and queens: Try and get or print large A3 playing cards. SO you use a king and a queen card...then you explain to everybody that after the count of 3 they have to decide to be a king or a queen. For a king they have to put theri hands on their head to simulate a crown. For a queen they have to put one hand on their hip and the other like a teapot, not very pc nowadays but the men hate doing this. Then once the whole room is on their feet and they have chosen you randomnly turn over one of thecards. If its a queen all the queens sit down and so on until you have about 6-8 left. Then get them on to the dancefloor in front of everyone else until you end up with a winner. Normally get the venue to supply a few bottles of bubbly for prizes. The other one is get some cheap bingo tickets and make sure every person in the room has one. Then like normal bingo but you get everyone on their feet agin and if their number is called out they sit down. Last one standing gets the prize
brianmole 0
It's a Denon poll - too many options It's not the type of function I like ie wedding or 18th, it's what I have to do at the function.
Award Entertainment 0
"All Day Wedding Reception" is my most favourite, and the one I do most of. I love the energy a wedding involves, the challenge and of course it's lucrative and so rewarding. "Pub quiz" is my least desired.
Ste Owens 0
Does no one like 13 - 17ths??? I love them well I suppose im bang in the centre of the catagory, 16. I find with these you can get all the lastest charts in, dancy ones (sunblock, freemasons, stonebridge) your modern cheesy stuff (rock this party - bob sinclar, girlfriend - avril) and also they like the normaly cheese at the end but then you can do the cha cha slide, macernena, saturday night altough I dont play oops upside your head because nobody know it anymore! Thats for me anyway. And 90s doesnt go a miss either barbie girl, cest la vie, ooh ahh just a little bit. The job that I hate doing is probably mixed corporate tend that people dont know eachother and a bit embarrased at dancing. Anyothers im quite happy to do. I just had a potential booking wanting me to play for 12 hours ! Not a chance ! What would be your most favourite and your least favourite types of function? I backed a male and female stripper one night in a pub. They gave me their personal CD's to play. They were both very good.
