Whisky In A Vase 0
I am doing a joint 50th party in a couple of weeks. I confirmed all the details last night and she had a quite a few requests that were of the normal and I am happy with. Apart from: She wants a couple of northern soul tracks. Now I carry a about 6 cd's full of the best of Northern Soul and when somebody requests a northern soul number I pass them the cd and they choose a couple and they seem to go down well with the person who requests them. But can anyone advise me what the most popular northern soul tracks are, so that I can be prepared. She also wants a hoe down (excuse the spelling) at the end? Any idea's what i can do for this? I do normally have quite a good high energy finish, but I am sure a good hoe down at the end will be entertaining, any idea's on this would be appreciated. Cheers all Neil

Cheers all Neil the most popular northern soul eh? i get asked this loads. the most popular isnt always the best. depends on how deep she likes her northern. but as a general i would suggest: the snake - al wilson , making a huge comeback on smooth f.m. do i love you (indeed i do) - frank wilson, most expensive single ever and top of the norther soul top 500 out on the floor - dobie gray , need i say more? aint enough love - eddie holland , truly awesome northern soul at its best. hope this helps, p.m. tho for sure.
High Fidelity 0
If I get asked for NS with no specific tracks, or if I see someone doing NS type dancing, the ones I tend to play are: Judy Street - What Lutricia McNeal - Nine Times Out Of Ten Elle Warren - Shattered Glass Unless it's specifically requested I tend to avoid The Snake. It's a great tune, but round here it's been worked to death. I nearly always finish a NS set with Maxine Nightingale - Right Back Where We Started From. It's not NS, but it has an NS feel to it which allows me to come out of NS into something like Motown. Looking forward to see the suggestions for a ho-down. deejaymitch 0
Hoe-down? You could try: There's Your Trouble - Dixie Chicks Coward Of The County - Kenny Rogers Two Pina Coladas - Garth Brooks Country Roads - John Denver Hillbilly Rock - Woolpackers Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus Man, I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain 9 to 5 - Dolly Parton 5,6,7,8 - Steps Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex All fairly well known tracks, all country, and starting slow building up to a fast finish. Good luck! I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services.
