Motorboating

Recommended Posts

last week i got a rolling noise from my sub, it sounded awful, i managed to cure it but i was told it was called motorboating.

anyone know what causes this and how to avoid it yet still keep a good thumping bass.

yep using a laptop, but i realised i had set the graphic wrong today. i was looking at it and i had the graphic set to a high bass equalisation, dont ask why cos i dunno lol, so i set it to no equal' and just relied on the mixer, problem solved.

my sub is a powered 600w rms 18" so it can go down real low if i want, i sometimes tend to overdo it as i am usually about 8 feet behind it at this particular venue and imagine i have no bass.
