4zzz 0
Anyone ever play it ?? Found by accident searching data base today Good track in my opinion. One that Ihave forgotten about
Norfolk DJ 0
Fantastic track and played frequently when it charted in 1985. Unusual at the time but clever. I was listening to it last week, forgot how good it was!! It's not a party of function track. I would think about playing it early on at an 80's night/40th birthday, but not at a general gig. llcooljoe 0
It's not the lyrics that bother me, I just find it boring. I did at the time too. Just not my type of track I suppose. I am whatever you say I am
4zzz 0
I think it has a good beat and it's an anti war song So wouldn't have a problem playing it. As Norfolk said probably early evening 40th or fiftieth. Wouldn't play at a wedding. Will play next chance I get. There are plenty of tracks that the BBC banned that get played regurally eg White Lies wouldn't have a problem playing that track. Anti drugs song Reading about the Pogues being offensive because of the word Faggot mentioned in Fairytale Of New York. What a joke classic Christmas and my number one fav Christmas song. brianmole 0
Do you spend a lot of time reseaching, lyrics and artists behavior before playing tracks? :bouncy: It's one of the earliest tracks which made use of a sampler. I remember at the time we used to play it quite a bit, and it lead me to buy a sampler and play with it at the t-t-t-t-t-t-t-time. Quite revolutionary in those early days. I can't imagine it would do much on the dancefloor now though.
