mikeee 0
1. The Darkness 2. Gary Jules 3. Billy Mack ..playing all the hits for you... ....whether you may be.... Why can't I see what i going on???
Tonsk 0
I think it will be the Darkness... Most people seem to like them at the moment and the major reason is their CD single is £1.99 and the Pap Idol 12 (yes it is spelt correctly!!) is £3.99.. and as you can only really play it for one month per year, why waste your cash (although they did re-release the original John and Yoko as well!) I suppose it's coz I'm tight that I notice these things http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/newyear.gif The Right Music - based in Norwich and covering all Norfolk and Suffolk
NineLives 0
That Darkness has flopped everytime I have tried it in this area .. Must be a Southern thing ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
ChrisPointon 0
I find Gary Jules's track (A wrist slitting version of an 80's song by Tears for Fears for those too young to remember) depressing and it's certainly not festive in any way, or anything special. My money is on The Darkness, although it doesn't exactly fill a dancefloor, it still gets asked for a lot http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif
Dukesy 0
I think the trouble with Christmas songs like the Darkness track is that for 'functions' / gigs, it can be a little bit more than 'difficult' to slot-in than a classic like Slade's 'Merry Christmas' tune. It's ideal for background play, I think, and deserves to be respected for it's lyrical 'tongue in cheek' Bell Ends!!!!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/toot.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/071.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/toot.gif
Gary 0
There used to be a time when a record/cd single being sold at a reduced price (eg: like The Darkness @ a mere £1.99) would have excluded it from being counted on the charts. Still if The Darkness do make it to number one, it wont be the first time that a novelty band have got the christmas number one spot...those girlie hair cuts and high pitched shrieks prevent me from taking "The Darkness" in any other way than Light~heartedly. Their lead singer does look likes a cross between Hanson, and th dodgy guitarist from 70's group "Mud(d)" (of "Tiger Feet" acclaim, http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
ChrisPointon 0
So who still actually believes that the Xmas charts (or weekly ones for that matter) are still actually compiled from true consumer CD sales? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif And who still believes in... http://www.hatton-court.co.uk/images/Father%20Christmas%202.jpg

mikeee 0
Dear Mr Nine Lives Esq, sir, Have just done a wedding, 95% of which came from Aberdeen, and wore the appropriate attire. I was threatened that if i didn't play the adopted national band of Scotland, they would remove my genitialler with a blunt instrument. I have never seen so many gentlemen, of the bare buttock variety, go so mad. Oh what a fun night...............pass me anothe whiskey ..playing all the hits for you... ....whether you may be.... YourBigEvent 0
QUOTE Have just done a wedding, 95% of which came from Aberdeen, and wore the appropriate attire. What Granite ? If you ever get a chance to see an interview with the guy from Darkness, watch it, he is what pop singers used to be like....enjoying it, knowing not to take himself seriously and make the money and run, because of him they get my vote, Mad World is a good record if you are driving...............off a cliff, and The Pop Idol Thingeys should never touch a proper record like Lennon's because they murder everything. .....but what do I know ? Gary 0
Gary Jules "Mad World" is 2003's Christmas Number One. How dreary... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/014.gif Looking on the bright side, its virtually an accappella, so, its time to pitch it up to about +25% and loop some sleigh bells and dance instrumentals.... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/toot.gif

dangerman 0
Very Disapointed with number one this year.
