KrazyKaz 0
I've joined our local Freecycle group - I think it's a brill idea. The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,213 groups with 4,300,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free and everything posted must be FREE, legal and appropriate for all ages Have a look here for more info. I noticed yesterday someone had given away speakers, amp and decks. Instead of taking good stuff to the tip, give it away. (just my opinion) They don't call me Krazy for nothing! Krazy by name - Krazy by nature !!!Age doesn't matter, unless you're a cabinet!K K Disco
Mattaious 0
Excellent I use freecycle myself. Ill pin this topic for future reference Cheers Kaz
Andy Westcott 0
Sounds like a good idea - far too much perfectly good equipment ends up in lanfil simply because someone has decided to 'upgrade'. Plenty of people out there to make use of this kind of stuff.
RichardP 0
Another total Freecycle endorsement from me  Good call Kaz It's amazing how far people will travel to take stuff off your hands ... here's some stuff we've happily rehomed using Freecycle : Cardboard boxes & packing material Obsolete computer equipment (printer, scanner) VHS Videotapes (films, comedies, cartoons etc) Car sheet Very old cordless phones Plus, responses usually come within hours if not minutes of you posting up your unwanteds - often people are happy to collect same day. It's total win-win smile icon edit: oh yes, a friend of ours even got a free old Polo car on Freecycle - over a year ago, still going strong! KrazyKaz 0
I've got rid of Child's car booster seat Coffee Maker Kids Craft Bits Flashing Blue Beacon ( ) It's amazing !! I'm going to try to get rid of the bits we tried to car boot and the bits I won't put on Ebay because postage would be too much. analyst 0
Do you have to have a Yahoo ID to join? It looks like it I stumbled on this today (didn't have my eyes open), thought it looked a great idea and wanted to join up. Took links to find my local group and then clicked to join it, only to find you appear to have to be a member of Yahoo Groups. Sod that, I have NO intention of joining yahoo groups = great idea bites the dust! :wall: For gawd's sake, why can't they just open it up to allcomers?

GREG'S MOBILE DISCO 0
Freecycle - Brilliant! Have used it many times to give away lots of good stuff - inc:power washer,PC monitor, loads of books and CDs,power tools, camping stuff, paraffin heaters - last time was 2 days ago when I gave away a De-humidifier that we no longer needed. It's great to see stuff still being used rather than tossed in a skip! Have also got a few nice things too - picture frames, central heating radiators, louvre doors etc. It's a fantastic idea though you do get a few timewasters and users who just request stuff and never give anything away but I suppose that's human nature for you! Captain of the good ship 'Andromeda' - a bit of a wreck like meself but at least she will look better with time...... PS. 'Pugwash' rules!!! Mobile DJ based on the Fylde coast and covering Lancashire & the north west, playing 60's - present day chart music. Country / Line Dance events catered for with the best in Modern Country music.
