Music for Halloween

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

Anybody got any ideas for tracks to play for a kids Halloween party ? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/scared.gif

So far I've come up with Whacko Jacko-Thriller, Ghostbusters & Monster Mash.

I've also got some soundbites like scary noises, laughter, screams etc. but now I'm stumped http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wacko.gif so I thought that maybe you guys with with all your experience http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/notworthy.gif might be able to suggest some more for a bit of fun ?

Any help would appreciated. Thanks Mike & Adam http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sterb188.gif

Kids and halloween.... a combination all year round!

Having done just the odd kids party or two.... Kids dont really care about theming your music... they only want to hear whats popular. Having said that though, Ghostbuster always goes down well cos the little darlings love to SHOUT!!

One thing I do with the younger kids is every so often ask them to give you a "scarey Woooooooo"..... a "werewolf" .... and and "evil cackle" They love it! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif

Agree with Karen on this one, kids want to hear whatever is popular at the time and the old favourites etc, they are not bothered like adults who 'listen' to the disco, all the kids want to do is run around screaming and eating sweet, and sometimes dancing.

.....but what do I know ?

sounds like kids are kids throughout the country so it will be like most other kids party's then. I was trying to put a bit of thought into it to try and impress the adults who will be there.

By the way I've just thought of another one---- Sonique-I put a spell on you( or should that be smell )

I like your idea though Kazz I'll try that one. Thanks Mike & Adam http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sterb188.gif

Good luck with it you two! Dont listen to all those who say that all kids do at discos is scream and run around..... It is down to you! Provided kids are kept entertained and dont get the chance to get bored then you wont have this problem at all. Kids only scream and run around IF they are bored. Another thing that is a total myth is that boys dont dance! They do and at the majority of my kids parties, are right up the front giving it everything.

Establish your rapport with the kids before you do anything... get them on your side and you will have them eating out of the palm of your hands!
