doggyc69 0
I’ve been in touch with someone in regards to working in Dubai sent off my info etc I then got a reply back with the basic pay details which was £1200.00 a month with flights accommodation, plus free food and drink with the possibility of earning a bit extra with radio work the job was in a 5 star hotel to which I sent a reply withdrawing my interest due to the low wage has anyone else had experience of working in the gulf and pay rates
DJ Marky Marc 0
£1200 a month is not so bad considering you are housed, Fed and watered... the accomidation will not be one of the hotel rooms it will be in another part of the complex or down town dubai away from the hotel.. the problem with this is all the other staff coming and going all day on different shifts and its hard to get some quiet time to sleep... going out is cheep in Dubai if you exclude Drinking... 70dhs to go skiing, 1dhs for a can of coke.. 20 dhs for a large pizza at pizza hut... currently 7dhs = £1 most of these residnet DJ jobs are being taken by the south africans as £1200 a month with no other costs is a lot for them... did they tell you the name of the venu ?? extra radio work out there only comes about if you know people.. more who you know than what you know.. how many nights will you be working as contacting another venue and toping up your wages is always an option... doggyc69 0
I suppose if you young with no commitments its ok, as I have a home in the uk to pay for and renting it out is not an options as I tried doing this 3 year ago and have decided against doing it again plus the expenses that come with it, I was making twice as much as this when I was in Ibiza I didn’t get any further details would imagine it would be 5/6 nights a week at least I know I’m worth more than £50/60 a night I have been to Dubai and know what to expect yhe only reason I would go out is to earn money and save it

Secret Disco 0
Check out Julianas who supply a lot of the djs to hotels in Dubai. Its a good experience but not a way to get rich. Dubai was the only place i made SERIOUS money, i came back with over £25,000 over a 9 month stint in Dubai working in the Hyatts club, with 6 days on FM the radio station out there. The spin off were endless as long as you could stay awake.....you made money. The hotel even payed you a weekly wage to change the tapes (at the time) which played easy listining music in all the lifts. the spin-offs from the Radio was also endless with getting anything up to £2000 for doing an hour slot at some rich birds birthday party. Go for it big guy.....you wont regret it,and theirs always the oppertunity to rub shoulders with some of the richest contacts ever. If you dont want it I'll take it......and i'm 46. doggyc69 0
I’ve not heard back from them from my response to the wage hoping that they come back with a better offer if that’s not the case I’ll pm you the details Jim
C.S 0
Its very unlikely they will come back with another offer, at least they never would have done in the past. Julianas jobs are usualy sought after because they sometimes lead on to better things. There are loads of us ex julianas djs settled in foreign countries after going there with Julianas. Yes its all true !!!!!! I on the other hand managed to escape by tunneling back to the UK. C.S. on the other hand stayed in Norway because of his "Igloo building" skills, and he's very good on the old noggy language LOL. A good friend of mine called Ronnie Steele went to Japan with Julianas.......and never came back. Dave Lorentzen now runs one of Americas largest DJ companies and now calls himself Kevin Colangelo. If you grab at it when the vacancy arrives, you can spend most of your life in a diffrent country every year. AND make some serious cash........BUT and its a very big but, you have to be wise and if the oppertunity arrises then go for it.
doggyc69 0
i believe this was via another dj not an agency who had to go back to the hotel's in question
C.S 0
Then be very careful because while Julianas take care of all the paper work eg. work permits ertc and will take care of you should a problem arise, i am not quite sure its as safe as an independent dj working for a single hotel ! Thats quite some tunnel Jim but i am having problems finding the entrance !!!!!!!! Not enough snow to make an igloo at the moment by the way ! I will try anything, once! The Cornish will arise again !
