All that "woop wopp yehaw here we go" jerry springer style nonsense make me laugh..... But Im laughing at them not with them....... It was ok I guess if you like that kinda thing, but I cant see that kinda thing ever working in the UK, the crowd would think the Bride and Groom have completely lost the plot......maybe Im wrong. davemoody 0 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Share Posted January 31, 2008 I have only ever done this once. It was last year and the bride was from New York and the groom was from Scotland. His side of the family looked to be really boring and quiet but they surprised me. I had to do the typical american thing where you introduce the families in to the room finishing with the bride and groom. Then it was straight in to the first dance, Etta James-At Last. 30 secs in I was told to just cut it dead wait a few secs and then in to MC Hammer Cant Touch This. Was a bit worried but after a few seconds everyone was joining in. The bride and groom never stopped dancing for nearly 2 hours. Crackin atmosphere and one to remember. I think in general it will not happen a lot here because how many of you have had the bride or the groom come up to you and say' right lets get the first dance over and done with and then I can get back to the bar' I think wedding entertainment needs changing because just think how they all run the same. Every hotel runs them the same and we all play similar music that we have been playing for the last 10 years. Will it continue.......I for one am not quite sure!!! Link to post Share on other sites
DJGAVT 0 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Share Posted January 31, 2008 I once did a wedding when the groom and bride had to rush off to find there dogs that had escaped (apparently they where expensive dogs) so when we started the 1st dance an hour and a half late I was asked to play who let the dogs out buy alot of people. So got the bride and groom up and it was very funny when that started playing. They did dance to it as well. Then we did the proper 1st dance. Link to post Share on other sites

They finally chose 3 tracks ............... and had a run-around style vote amongst the guests to decide it. It worked, too. tongue out icon You want me to play what? It was choreographed and actually really good. Nowhere near as cringy as this one!! If anyone has it or can send me a Youtube link to it, I'd really like to see it again.
