Paul Smith 0
Good one - I think though that the 'Record skips / Dj makes mistake' transition has been done so many times now that it seems dated  There are other ways to do it.
Big B 0
That video was realy quite funny, got to admit i never saw that coming. its funnt that i found that because in August for the first dance at a wedding i have to start of with a slow sont then go into a punk rock track, dont know what they are yet as waiting for bride to be to let me know. NRG Roadshow 0
Hmmmm......Im afraid its times like this that Im reminded why I love to laugh at Americans! All that "woop wopp yehaw here we go" jerry springer style nonsense make me laugh..... But Im laughing at them not with them....... It was ok I guess if you like that kinda thing, but I cant see that kinda thing ever working in the UK, the crowd would think the Bride and Groom have completely lost the plot......maybe Im wrong. I have never been asked to do anything like that at any wedding, maybe a time will come when Iam but I dought it.
analyst 0
Well, maybe it is a bit old hat, but I gotta say I think it was well planned and well executed for all that. smile icon Once I got asked by the B & G to make an "accidental DJ error" and as they stood poised for their first dance, instead of the official song, out came the words sung by Chris Rea (ready cued) "Oh no, this is the road to hell"
Corabar Steve 0
I did something very similar to post#1 about 3 or 4 years ago. Only it was Your song into Baby got back. Went down a storm, by the end of it virtually everyone had joined in (including parents of the B&G) Steve... jamminroadshow 0
I think that it rocks to be honest but it did not look like the DJ made a mistake it might be better if the dj interacted more on it making it look like he had done it. Its fun i mean the first dance is always a slow love song and people never say thats dated
davemoody 0
I have only ever done this once. It was last year and the bride was from New York and the groom was from Scotland. His side of the family looked to be really boring and quiet but they surprised me. I had to do the typical american thing where you introduce the families in to the room finishing with the bride and groom. Then it was straight in to the first dance, Etta James-At Last. 30 secs in I was told to just cut it dead wait a few secs and then in to MC Hammer Cant Touch This. Was a bit worried but after a few seconds everyone was joining in. The bride and groom never stopped dancing for nearly 2 hours. Crackin atmosphere and one to remember. I think in general it will not happen a lot here because how many of you have had the bride or the groom come up to you and say' right lets get the first dance over and done with and then I can get back to the bar' I think wedding entertainment needs changing because just think how they all run the same. Every hotel runs them the same and we all play similar music that we have been playing for the last 10 years. Will it continue.......I for one am not quite sure!!!
DJGAVT 0
I once did a wedding when the groom and bride had to rush off to find there dogs that had escaped (apparently they where expensive dogs) so when we started the 1st dance an hour and a half late I was asked to play who let the dogs out buy alot of people. So got the bride and groom up and it was very funny when that started playing. They did dance to it as well. Then we did the proper 1st dance.
robbiedj 0
Last year we had a couple who didn't know what to use for their 1st dance. They finally chose 3 tracks ............... and had a run-around style vote amongst the guests to decide it. It worked, too. tongue out icon You want me to play what? Smudger 0
Nice. I've had couples that have had secret dance lessons for their 1st dance and surprised everyone. But that just worked so well. They've rehearsed it and pulled it of well. and look at how it whipped the guests up. I bet that DJ's never had it so easy. Jon
Noremacnala 0
There was a video on one of those "funniest videos" TV shows I saw recently where the DJ cut the music, stuck on Michael Jackson - Thriller, and the entire bridal party started dancing to it. It was choreographed and actually really good. Nowhere near as cringy as this one!! If anyone has it or can send me a Youtube link to it, I'd really like to see it again. Revelationroadshow 0
Closest I got was a couple of years ago, wedding for a biker couple who asked me to pop "Bring your daughter to the slaughter" as there first dance - but just long enough to see the look on everyone's face and then back to the real first dance.
