Smudger 0
I'd just like to say Hello to everyone out there from myself as a new member of this forum. I've been watching it for a few years now but only just got round to joining (shows how lazy I can be). I look forward to meeting you and sharing advice tips and ideas over to coming times ahead. I've been running a mobile disco since 1993 and have steadily grown from £500 of second hand equipment (to help out a struggling social club) to the heights of todays business. I currently run 2 shows with a third about to go live this weekend. I also have 6 other DJ's (that meet my strict criteria) that have their own equipment that do regular work for me. The 3 shows I have are all very similar in looks, with the same sound and lighting. The theory behind this is you could put everything together for a larger show show someone require that and in the case of equipment failure (and when it goes wrong and has to go to be repaired the after care service a my local DJ shop is, well I won't put anyone down) it's very easy to move equipment about without changing the look of the show. Plus people see a show and book exactly what they've seen not a show that's have the size. Business is good at the moment although I do feel that there're are some lasso swinging people out there doing it on the cheap (no public liability no tax etc etc). From what I've read and seen here in the past I know that people like to see what other DJ's shows look like so I will post some photo's at a later date, but for now hears a brief description. 2 falcons 2 dynatwins 2 moving heads 1 laser cloth screen mackies cortex 300 mixer pcdj Oh and by the way, yes I'm very anal about my leads being nice and neat, both when in use and in full view of the customers and when their packed away in the right boxes and rolled up in the correct way (look after your equipment and you'll reap the rewards in the long run. Anyway that's brief insight into "Smudger", I' know going to look at some of the posts and I look forward to speaking to some of you soon. Jon

High Fidelity 0
:djuhi: Welcome Jon Know what you mean about the cables. Mine have to be coiled up properly, and put away neatly. Makes it's so much easier setting up. When my son puts stuff away, it takes me ages untangling them all, which drives me mad when I setting up. Quitting Smoking & Drinking doesn't make you live longer It just feels like it.

Smudger 0
Ah Gary, with the pircings? the indie specialist? How are you sir. and hello to Marky Marc who must be from near here as he seems to know where Basingstoke is, just up the road from Surrey. Go out for a drink? As long as it's not on a Sunday because it would clash with going to church... But all joking aside, sounds good to me as long as you promise not to laugh at the fat git that turns up as me. It's been a long time and a lot of meals later, (must be at least 8 years) since I last worked for A&K. good to hear from you Jon
