poridge 0 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Share Posted March 5, 2008 on the moving head martins the stepper motors are silent a rare feature this could possibly bump the price up and also the dmx controlled martins use many more channels than an average moving head light enabling more control. i know the moving head martins are primeraly used in theatres. So Martin manage to utilize more channels than an equivalent head from other manufacturers? For what exactly, to win the 'my lights got more channels than yours' contest? Fitting more functionality into less channels (something Martin do well, without limiting control) is often the more desirable outcome as i means less patching required, and more fixtures within a universe. superstardeejay 0 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Share Posted March 6, 2008 I've teetered on steps doing minor repairs to moving heads and only the Martins really are meant for this due to their modular cassette design.
