williamrobb88 0
Hi all I am getting misleading information in setting up my NEW souncard with PCDJ. I have just bought the soundblaster 5.1 (Model: SB0490). This is a 5.1 soundcard and I dont want to set it up for 5 speakers. Basically, I want to set it up so PCDJ sends each player (2 players) down a different cable into a different channel on my Yamaha mixing desk, so I can control each player of PCDJ independantly with the desk. However, when I choose 2.1 setup from the creative speaker setup it doesn't show me where to plug the cables in. I just phoned Creative and they told me "Because you have selected 2.1 you are saying that you are sending the output to the headphone socket at the front of the box" IS THIS CORRECT? I don't think it is. So I said, "No, I want a left channel & a right channel so I can control each one independantly" The tech guy said "Well, you can't do that". Maybe I'm wrong here. but that doesn't semm right. I remeber reading somewhere that if I bought this USB soundcard, I could use it to control 2 channels independantly. The headphone socket is at the front of the machine and is only 1 small jack that connects to a pair of headphones. Do I need a splitter to split this into 2 channels and do it that way? Somebody help please. I thought that buying this soundcard would of been the answer.
Dukesy 0
If you've searched all related forum threads and still can not solve, try this If the card works ok with other media, Contact PCDJ support for advice on the DJ Software sound config.
Partyprint 0
From past experience you still use the headphone socket on your laptop for deck 1 and use one of the ooutputs from your usb sound card for deck 2, I've always had to add a bit of gain to deck 2 as it seems a bit lower. Dream Catchers 0
In the CFG menu, does it not let you choose CH1/CH2 for Deck1 and CH3/4 for Deck2? Jim
UKHero 0
I think you have to set up the sound card in Creatives software first. 2.1 will only give you one left and one right. You need 4.1 or 5.1 this will then give you a L&F front and an L&F rear.. you use one for player 1 and the other for player 2. I am sure it can be done with PCDJ and this card. But even with otsav you have to get the settings right before ots will recognise it. In the creative SB software there is a page that shows a chair and two speakers in front of it you can then change the selection to also have two speakers behind it. This is the setting you need.. Coloursounds Entertainment 0
I know this is a bit late but the perfect usb soundcard for pcdj is the gigaport ag, this gives you 4 stereo pairs of output. The sound quality is amazing and the config is simple to set up. Watch the prices as this card is getting cheaper all the time.
Mattaious 0
I have an soundblaster audiology z3 and thats set at 5.1 1 channel for player 1 1 channel for player 2 then the karaoke goes through the headphone socket on the laptop. I use PCDJ red and i must admit it does take time to get your head around all the settings. First - Set the sound card to 5.1 Then in PCDJ go to the CFG Select your sound card in the sound interface menu, and then set plater 1 as 1-2 and player 2 as 3/4 works for me :)
Partyprint 0
Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you run jack from front output on sound card and use the red phono into say channel one on mixer and black/white to channer 2 and repeat for rear output to channel 3 and 4 on mixer to get 2 deck running through 4 channels. Hope this makes sense it was hard to type!!! Wedding Dj in Liverpool

startrax 0
I use the same soundcard in some karaoke venues, install the driver only not the software. I dont think it willwork like that, that soundacrd wont split the signal to 2 channels, buy another one then just set each deck with a diffrent soundcard then headphones from the laptop. stu Howay the lads Startrax www.toon-talk.co.uk
